Why does NYWFP say he can remove his name then?
They're talking about him changing his legal residency or running for another office. He sounds like he can't be bothered to. He might do it closer to election time if it starts getting more antsy.

I've just seen Pat Boone advertising summat on Fox News. Isn't he dead?

They also are running ads saying confirm Kavanaugh. It's very weird to see ads for a SCOTUS nominee.

@berbatrick Did you notice the rule change about Deportation when Visa extension gets rejected?

https://qz.com/1323136/a-uscis-immi...itizens-with-deportation-if-they-lose-status/

These are significant
1) If your visa extension was denied, you had 180 days to leave the country with access to lawyers and other extension procedures. Now, you don't. You don't have access to any other legal recourse. You can either show 'evidence' that you are leaving the country in 10 working days or risk detention with no bail
2) If you have applied for an extension even though your visa is active (For instance, your current extension may have 3 to 6 months, but you may have applied extension early to avoid nasty last minute surprise), rejection takes precedence. If your extension application is rejected, it supercedes your current valid visa and you will be put under deportation procedure.

For people who work for companies like Cognizant and Infosys, it doesn't change much. We are given less than 2 weeks to arrange the logistics and on most cases, the company books travel but I assume this is going to place a significant amount of headache for independent contractors with settled families. This applies to H1 and L1 but I assume you could be under threat too.

On the upside, a lot of houses in good school districts will be available on the cheap. Go America!!!

Did you get the extension?

Fingers massively crossed for these numbers to continue.

Would be massive for the Dems since that is usually a hard R seat (Corker). The Dems are also in good shape in NV (Rosen) and AZ (Sinema).

Also, another massive wild card for control of the Senate involves who wins the AZ Governor's race, since if its a Dem, he will appoint a Democratic senator once McCain passes.

I've applied through normal mode. My case was filed on July 5th and my extension expired on 6th  I have received the receipt notice, with which I have got driving license extended till March 2019 from Illinois State. I can expect a ruling in another 3 to 6 months. I can either get a RFE (Request for Evidence) asking for more documents or I may get rejected. At which point, I will be put under deportation procedure.

Like I said, I don't have to worry too much because it's in my company's interest to move me immediately back to India, but still I will be expected to sell all my furniture/car in a couple of weeks and also have to negotiate lease breakage as my company will foot only 2500 dollars. I expect at least 5000 dollars or more if the worst happens. I will not let this bother me though, if shit happens, it does.

Fecking hell man. It's really crazy right now, and hope it works out for you. Thought you would have gotten it before the current changes take effect. My friend's deadline is fast approaching and he is absolutely bricking it. Going over the documents again and again. Recently had a kid too. I know the companies tend to move you back ASAP but still the threat of detention and deportation just make matters worse.

I have a daughter too. She's starting school this September. Companies delay filing to the last possible date nowadays. I expect this to get even worse with the new rule changes where a rejection on future petition takes precedence over valid visas.

Good luck. This is really a good example of how its not even just illegal immigration they are going after but even legal immigration en masse. 10 days to move out of the country where you were legally employed previously? That is just insanity. Really hope that works out for you as that sounds very unfair.

Yeah looks like it will have an affect on a lot of work visa holders. Hope things work out for you.

Didn’t realize that about AZ.

Nelson appears to be holding on v. Scott in my home state of Florida. I have seen polls as high as Nelson +10, but I think it is closer to what Real Clear Politics is showing as Nelson +4. Scott is desperately trying to thread the needle here, especially yesterday & overnight due to Trump’s lunacy yesterday. I don’t see Nelson doing too much other than letting Trump, & by extension Scott, keep melting down. Nelson will be more than happy to provide the rope for Scott to hang himself.

Isn't a significant chunk of that money coming from people who live out of state and wont be able to vote in these races?

If so then they have nothing to worry about. If large amounts of small donations were coming from people who live in the districts themselves, then that would be a real reason for the Texas GOP to worry as it would imply the Dems are mobilising and energised for the local races.

I'd imagine its a good bit of both.

Conveniently cut off there. Anyway, don't see how she said anything wrong there regardless.

Whether she said the right thing or not is subjective based on your political views about the subject. The point is she came across as woefully unprepared to answer a fairly easy question and in the process helped to amplify the narrative that she is naive and inexperienced. Best thing for her at this point would be to work with a media and foreign policy staffer since the hard questions aren't going to be getting any easier, especially if the media smell blood in the water.

Good God. Get this woman a foreign policy staffer and a bit of media training asap.

Not surprised given her views that she's focused on the humanitarian issues she sees in the region. She's entitled to her views re Israeli settlements.

I'm interested in what she says after this video cuts off.

It might not be a particularly slick or political answer but isn't that why her supporters like her? Isn't that what won her the nomination? She was honest at least.

why are these people so dumb? Do they not think journalists will have a look?
Think your first question answers your second question

But, I'm sure people have been getting away with this kind of stuff for years. Small donations is the popular thing now, so that's what they're focusing these sort of tactics on (would be my guess)

Key question is whether Cuomo was involved in this or had knowledge this was going on.

Agreed. Or his staffer. Will post if I see anything. Either way it's hilarious.

Looks like the staffer is in a relationship with this donor. You'd have to be extremely gullible to believe the staffer was not aware or involved in this.

Didn't see anything about a relationship but either way I agree. I spoke poorly-I meant to say that if/as his staffer had knowledge that in itself is an issue, even internally. If Cuomo doesn't know or didn't agree to this (I have my doubts)...well if I were Cuomo I'd be pissed
