Us Open 2012

In terms of Tennis quality, it's been a poor match. Really some poor shot selection, poor serving, poor returning. Really a lot of room for improvement from both players.

Can't overstate the wind factor, added to the general nerves of being in a grand slam final.

Genuine question, why do the English really want Murray to win? Do you guys consider yourselves to be more English than British or the same?

I'm as much English as I am British. A Britain is playing, therefore I support him as I would an Englishman.

Some points towards the end of the tie break was like watching senior tennis. Zero risk tennis with some poor shots. Ofcourse we have the conditions to blame but a Slam final really should be played in normal conditions.

As they cant put a roof on the main court due to underlying ground issues the weather is going to play a big part if it is like this in the future as well.

Djokovic looks incredibly poor at the moment. As long as Murray doesn't bottle it he could quite easily have a 2 set advantage soon.

I just quite like him, to be honest. I could play the half Scottish card, but I'm not really arsed about all that. It's more that I think he deserves a slam at some point in his career and that it'd be a shame if he didn't get one.

Hey everyone, guess what...Ivan Lendl is watching!

well said.

He's representing Britain as much as Scotland.

I'm a scot and always roared Henman on

That's fair enough and makes sense. I just hate how sky news bangs on about him until he loses and then he doesn't seem to be one of their own. That's just my opinion anyway.

Djoker like Bane is giving all the brits hope. He will crush so many souls tonight

A poor year of tennis (personally) is just about to get poorer : Having to witness Murray and his mom celebrating.

Anyway, Murray holds well for 3-0. Djokovic will come back though, he always does.

Terry will definitely be there too.

It's been far from a poor year of tennis. Been some excellent matches when you think back to the Australian Open, and seeing a break in the constant Nadal-Djokovic final trend which was beginning to take over has been refreshing. We're now in a position where any of the big 4 can take grand slams which makes it more interesting. Good year for tennis in my opinion.

A good thing for Murray has been the lack of media attention. The olympics and Paralympics really have helped Murray quite a bit IMO.
