US Open 2011

Stephanek pulls out as well. These injuries/illnesses are becoming a major concern now.

Men's
Federer's win over Sela gives him his 225th Grand Slam victory, moving him past Agassi into second place on the all-time list (Connors is the leader with a 233-49 record).

Berdych is through too.

Women's
Ivanovic is in round three after Cetkovska has pulled out of the match

S.Williams, Jankovic and Petkovic are through too :)

Bryan Bros losing
They've lost the first time in a tournament in round one since the Aussie Open 2001.

Yep 14 retirements or walkovers so far are a big worry, i've heard a lot of players are taking some special tablets now.

Monfils playing within himself in a tight one with Ferrero. Gael is my favourite player to watch of the current bunch and I took 200/1 on him before the Tournament started.

That performance showed exactly why he's out on 200/1. Incredibly flashy and rubbish player.

Men's
Wow Cilic beats Tomic 6-1 6-0 6-2

Tsonga, Verdasco and Davydenko are in the next round too.

Women's
Elena "The banana split" Baltacha has lost against Kuznetsova in two sets, she hasn't played bad but in the end it was a scottish performance :(

Nadal giving Federer just 3 games in the French Open final in 2008 was pretty special :)

Murray just threw it away in the tie break in the first set.

Was 4-1 up and lost it.

First set to Hasse.

Murray a set and a break down and Nadal struggling early on as well.

This half of the draw is going to be a joke

He's been poor. The forehand is so error strewn. 2 sets down but I think he'll win this.

Haase is a good player though. Almost took out Nadal at Wimbledon last year.

Men's
Murray beats Haase 6-7 2-6 6-2 6-0 6-4....................two down - five to go

EASY EASY EASY EASY EASY.............
Noh noh puuhhh this was very tough for Murray and it was a dramatic match ;)
Nadal is through too after Mahut has retired (It was 6-2 6-2 after two sets).

Young beats Wawrinka in a great match 7-6 3-6 2-6 6-3 7-6

Melzer hast lost against Kunitsyn 6-3 3-6 6-1 2-6 6-7

Simon and Nalbandian are through too.

Women's
Pennetta has beaten Sharapova (She's really too loud nowadays :nono: ) :)

Lisicki has reached the 4th round too :)

Berdych retires at 6-4 5-0 down vs Tipsy. This is getting ridiculous now. Retirement number 18 or 19?

A lot of these players have fallen ill and many are getting injured.

Even at Montreal and Cincinnati there were loads of players struggling. Infact around 15 of the top 20 have suffered from some illness/injury after Wimbledon.

Yet another retirement. Grannolers vs Ferrero. I'm lost for words now

10 male and 8 female retirements.

And next year will be worse due to the Olympics having to be adjusted as well!

Fed won the first set 6-3 but loses the 2nd 6-4 vs Cilic.

Cilic is a pretty dangerous opponent and has been playing very well.

No doubt the ATP + WTA calendars are too busy, but when i see a player like Petkovic plays with a tear in her meniscus since the start of the tournament than it's no surprise she has more injuries in the future.
I'm actually more surprised that so many players are ill.

Women's
Wozniacki is through :)

Jankovic is out :(

Men's
Federer vs Cilic 6-3 4-6 6-4 6-2

Tsonga beats Verdasco without any problems 6-3 7-5 6-4

Fish is through too.

Women's
Ivanovic has reached the 4th round

S.Williams beats Azarenka 6-1 7-6, the 1st set was women against girl and the 2nd set was a magnificent :) + :(

Petkovic has reached the 4th round too :)

Kuznetsova is through too.

Nalbandian is playing some seriously aggressive tennis out there vs Nadal.

Nalbandian with the early break and leads 4-3.

I honestly don't really expect Nadal to win anything for the rest of this season. I don't know what sort of impact that Wimbledon final had on him but it's almost like he's forgotten how to play tennis at times.

He's not had one good match in the US in the last month.
