United v Chelsea

I disagree, MOM Mikael Silvestre.
Set up 2 goals and was overall our best player.

I wouldn't argue, but I chose O'Shea because of his age - Chelsea provided a real test for him and he was sooooooo cool.

Like I said - Neville - O'Shea - Ferdinand - Silvestre.

If those four can play together regularly we could be back on track folks.

Wonderful second half performance. Would have won it had it not been for three suspect decisions from Mr Poll. If only we could play like that all the time - now all the Veron-haters will come out in force to tell us this means we should never play him. Shows 451 can work, and Scholes had that enthusiasm and had a decent game. Great game.

and another decent result and good performance with 4411.
Had we played 442 i doubt wed have done any better. Movement and tempo was better tonight.

we were the better team... and deserved to win.

the linesman and ref were a fecking joke.

MON - o'shea(slim peter kay if u ask me ;) ) or Silvestre..

i suppose its a change from playing against an alot out defensive side.

a good result concidering its early in the season and we generally looked very good and we showed great character to come back twice. plus this was without gaz, rio and barthez.

And was it the treble year when we went there and lost 5-0? Or the year after.

I feel on a high. We conceded two goals but I'm excited about our defence!

Fair result Chelsea were the better team first half Utd second half and Giggs got his 100th UTD goal

I agree O'shea was terrific today handling JFH but Silvestre was brilliant in both defence and attack.
And he's not much older the O'shea ;)

John O'Shea...Sky's Man of the Match!

Well done...

our midfield didn't give them a sniff..

however we were sloppy at times.. especially in first half.. gave away the ball too many times!

overall our 2nd half display was excellent.

Positives you can take from tonight:

1) O'Shea - great performance against one of the best strikers in Europe. Never looked phased whilst others lost their cool. Well done that lad maybe Wes Clown OG has more than met his match.

2) Demento has finally realised that Evita Veron can't cut it with the big boys and left him on the bench.

I still think you should be playing 4-4-2

Hey Softie I've got a question, It's Saturday night (back in the UK), your online been watching your most hated team play, Why...? You got no mates or a bird...! So Sad, I never watch your lot play...

Closet Manc really..!

We played good there

To start of with I don’t have time for anyone’s bullshit of we played crap and change the system back to 4-4-2 blah blah blah.

We played Great tonight and i already see an improvement from last season, Silvestre and John O'Shea were immense at the back and i would say all of our midfield played pretty decent, Ruud Ran his arse of all night and on another day could have been threw on goal if it weren’t for that shit linesmen, This is Chelsea we were playing there and we were playing them Stamford bridge were the fans are up for it and the players are up for it. And in the second half it was all United and with Ferdinand in the team that is Championship Material, it took a lot of hard work to get us back in the game tonight, and our lads did it, and on another day we should have won, now that’s one of our toughest games out of the season out of the way.

BRING ON SUNDERLAND

It's Friday. My 'bird' is in Canada. I'm decorating and it was slightly more interesting than watching said paint dry... ;)

A lot of positives to take from the game. We had to make do with a defence laking three or four crucial players, yet our defending was solid - nice to see John play so well - while Chelsea scored with their only meaningful efforts on goal. Our Midfield worked so hard tonight - Rentboys didnt know what to do when we kept getting possesion back. Giggs got a well-deserved 100th for us, and Becks scored a beauty with his left peg (albeit thru a deflection). Silvestre set-up both goals beautifully, which shuts up the critics nicely. Our second-half performance was magnificent, best weve seen for a while. Only downside was the poor Ref.

Liverpool won't be on until 10.30, I'll be out enjoying a meal and some alcoholic refreshments with my mates. I'll catch the highlights on Sunday. Thanks for your concern though.

should've won.

but its a step in the right direction... i think we look stronger this season... still a long was to go, tho'....

O'Shea, great performance ..looks promising.
For the rest, looks like it's still early season ..most players still looking for consistency (..hence the first leg).

Not satisfied, back in the 1st half when chelsea scored their 2nd I said to myself (yea, we talk sometimes) that i'd settle for a draw.
But now seeing how well we came back in the 2nd half and I think we should have won it.
Overall im a bit disappointed since I always want us to win.
are you satisfied ?

Not really. The bounce left Roy decieved for the first, while Andy Gray made a point about the second, saying he should have held on to the ball and let it calm down. He was right a way, just shows his inexperience.

Andy Gray commentating alongside Martin Tyler. Do you have the pictures taken direct from Sky Sports here in the UK. I thought you might have had commentators such as Steve Banyard or Guy Havard or even Ian Darke.

Yep! Boys played well, showed a lot of character & guts to keep equalising, controlled the game, good passing & movement, were up for it - good confidence-building stuff, can't ask for more than that.

We looked United.
