United to sign Lukaku??

madness isnt it? there was another one spouting that nonsense yesterday. Never let the facts get in the way of a good story eh!!!

To be fair I think he means it in the way fergie often talks about how certain players you can't afford to miss out on even if you didnt have a set plan to try to sign them at the time but are pushed to make a move because other teams become interested. This happened with Diouf when Ajax and a few other teams became interfere and we also made a big offer for Pato when he was 17 because Milan and Chelsea came in for him

why? when will these idiots realize Madrid is a joke?

The most succesful club in the history of football and they will remain one for years to come. They also have a good chance of winning a major trophy in the following years.

Belgian starlet Romelu Lukaku has claimed that it would be a 'dream' to play at Real Madrid.

Lukaku, 17, is attracting a huge amount of interest from Europe with the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham among those looking to secure his signature. But the young striker has one ambition above all others and says he dreams of playing for Real Madrid.

"Of course, it's a dream to play at the Bernabeu. It's a top stadium,'' he said. '' That Jose Mourinho is the coach of Real Madrid is an extra motivation. For a coach like Mourinho, I'd want to learn as much as I possibly can."

Happy to continue his education at Anderlecht for the time being, Lukaku added that he will be ready for a big move soon.

"We'll see in June, but for now I don't want to hear about it. I feel happy at Anderlecht,'' he said. "But I am ready for the big jump when the time comes. I am very ambitious. I will then do everything to convince people that I was worth so much money."

Though the youngster admits his father will be the one to make the final decision on his next destination.

"I love English, Spanish and German football. Italy is also a major championship, but it requires more experience. My father will make the right choice."

No doubt about that but I don't think it's the best club for the young footballers.

I don't know, they change managers so often that you didn't know who you're going to end up with it. Canales has had some games under Mourinho that he might have not got in the past, the competition is huge but if you are a confident type, you won't really mind.

I don't think there is need for him here. He would likely cost plenty of money and affect Macheda's and Welbeck's development who would hardly get a shot at first team football.

Usually true, but he's not really been good enough on FM in the past.

The coincidence of big teams signing FMs wonderkid are more and more happening lately.

Could it be they're using FM as scout or FM are getting better at scouting.

It seems like most FM muppets have a ******** lately, Ronaldo, Evra, Vidic, Anderson, Neymar, Coutinho, Bale, Ramsey, Wilshere

Have been predicted as wonderkid in the past and have been bought by numerous FM players regularly.

his father will choose united and the Chelsea will kidnap him, glad we didn't get mikel, he's shit.

Manchester United are ready to offer RSC Anderlecht €20 million for teenage sensation Romelu Lukaku , according to Belgian sources.

The 17-year-old, dubbed 'The New Didier Drogba" burst onto the scene last season with 18 goals and six assists. And he is well on the way to beating those figures this season, scoring 14 goals and setting up three, and has a league efficiency ratio of a goal and assist every 111.1 minutes.

He is one of the most in-demand players in Europe, and Anderlecht have said as many as 15 clubs are after him.

Lukaku is strong, fast and deadly in front of goal. He moves well in the box and is always in the right place at the right time. He shoots well with both feet, although he prefers his left side.

He is a good passer of the ball, too, adept at creating scoring opportunities for his teammates.

Lukaku does need to work on his technique in small spaces, but he is sure to progress into a truly world class player.

Might make sense to buy him if Macheda is being sent on loan and there is also whispers of Owen leaving too..

Didn't he just say the other day that he "dreams" of playing for Real Madrid?

If he dreams of playing for Real Madrid then he'd be best advised to join someone else, as Benzema should have done.

If he wants to develop Madrid should the last place on his list. Mourinho doesn't develop players, they have to reach his standards or he won't play them.

One of the reason Chelsea and Inter are looking fecked right now, no young players brought through and developed in the last fews seasons. Chelsea suffering now because they have the old guard and youngsters, no mid twenties players, Inter are aging too.

To be fair to Mourinho it's not as if he's been anywhere long enough to bring youngsters through and develop them, that generally takes a bit of time.

Also did he not leave Chelsea like 3 years ago? Have they not had time to try and reverse the irreversible damage that clueless Portuguese plonker did to them?

He is a Mourinho kind of forward too, target man. I reckon he is likely too end up there this summer.

Mourinho wants a striker this window and Fernando Llorente is the one they keep getting linked with. With Higuain injured for a while he might be tempted to go there.

Lukaku on the other hand just has to look at how much football Canales is getting. It was his dream too

Doesn't matter where he goes - if it's to a 'big' club, chances are he won't be first choice.

Would be the same if he came here.

Flirting With Romelu - The Offside - Manchester United blog

Belgium’s teen football sensation Romelu Lukaku has already begun the process of causing greed and chaos to reign. As a postscript to the recent affair in which Wayne Rooney and his agent Paul Stretford held Manchester United to ransom, player power seems to be growing out of all proportion to talent and quality. Dubbed the “new Didier Drogba,” the young Belgian, having heard that his club have already accepted bids for his services from Chelsea and Manchester United, has made an astonishing come-and-get-me plea to Real Madrid in an interview published this morning in Marca which has shocked his English suitors.
Having said for years that he’s a Chelsea fan and been seen at Stamford Bridge at least five times over four years since they tried to sign him as a 13-year-old, Lukaku had his photograph taken last week in both Manchester and Chelsea shirts. Indeed, on Monday, his father, former pro Roger Lukaku, spent a large part of the day negotiating on the phone with David Gill.
Naturally, Arsenal and Manchester City are also keen on the beefy, 6 ft 3 in warrior striker, but his gushing praise of Real, their coach Jose Mourinho and star player Cristiano Ronaldo has left the Spaniards in no doubt as to where he wants to play next season. Of course, the notion of Arsene Wenger coughing up a furball the size of London before spending that kind of dosh is worth a laugh. And the idea of City having Lukaku join the ultimate prima donna strike force which is already in place featuring Tevez, Adebayor and Balotelli is equally amusing.
“I’d love to play at the Bernabeu,” he told Marca. “It would be great to learn from Jose Mourinho. Playing next to Cristiano Ronaldo would be fantastic.”
It is applaudable that Lukaku refused to contemplate a move while he finished his school studies in Belgium, happy to just “flirt on the phone” as he put it , with silver-tongued callers like Patrice Evra, Florent Malouda and Drogba.
Yet with Anderlecht only being offered approximately £15M by Real Madrid, things turn ever more complicated. Indeed, although Mourinho is looking world wide for a physically imposing experienced center forward to replace the exciting but injured Argentine Gonzalo Higuain, one wonders if the raw talent of Lukaku is what they need. Looks like our old friend Don Florentino is playing his daft mind games again.
With the Gaffer’s darling Karim Benzema not measuring up after Los Galacticos forked over £32M to acquire his services from Olympique Lyonnais, Higuain out injured until next season and the £65M Brazilian midfielder Kaka unable to force his way onto the team, Real Madrid have at least £130M’s worth of talent twiddling their collective thumbs on the bench.
Mourinho’s clear first choice is definitely Fernando Llorente of Athletic Bilbao who will probably run about £45M. Thus any ultimate decision belongs with the club President Florentino Peréz. Having undergone a massive 5-1 humiliation at the hands of the club’s eternal rival Barcelona, Peréz wants revenge yesterday, now, tomorrow and forever. That so callow a youth may not fit in with Perez’s desperate need for instant gratification is obvious. That he would try to irritate United and Chelsea by winning as lowest bidder is also clearly a case of the man acting in character.
Along with other brilliant youngsters like Steven DeFour, Axel Witsel and Eden Hazard, Lukaku is already a regular for his country. Meanwhile, Anderlecht are top of the league and the 270 Ib prospect would clearly be an after word, at least temporarily, at the Bernabeu. Perhaps then, the boy’s dad is just flirting like a mink in heat because he senses the bottom of the market may drop out at any moment.
A little clarity would help, right? “I know my dad will make the right pick for me,” he told Marca. “I really admire Sir Alex Ferguson and how he made a better player out of Cristiano Ronaldo.”
Romelu and his little brother Jordan have been the focus for more than five years of the Flemish reality show De School van Lukaku. His obsession, according to a number of regular watchers I’ve talked to is with making more guaranteed money than Wayne Rooney. “I’m bigger. I’m better looking and I don’t have a wife,” he said.

Where did they got all that info from about speaking to david gill etc?

I hope we don't sign him or any other striker for that matter.

It`s always the same with some young footballers......it was so clear that he plays for Real Madrid only in cup games.

Not so clear when he was in the original lineup Mourinho was using.

Had he have played well he'd most likely continued. He played poorly though and Real Madrid have such options that any player in poor form can lose their place.

I agree with your general point but I don't want us buying more players who are dreaming of playing elsewhere, we have 3 young strikers to develop already and I'd rather we focused on them.
