United States, Mexico and Canada to host 2026 World Cup

Will there be 48 teams by then? Otherwise Canada is obviously stealing a slot.

Fifa should have got them to commit to calling it "football" as a pre-condition!

actually thats a good point, do all 3 expect automatic qualifcation?!

only Mexico were good enough this time

I wonder how much of that is to stop the FBI fishing around their business. Still, a welcome change after Russia and Qatar.

Shit KO times, logistical nightmare for the fans, no real football culture, and they've hosted one (relatively) recently, meh.

In theory, it's a wonderful joint-venture to bring neighbouring countries together, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't concerned for the safety of a large number of Europeans traveling into Mexico in the midst of an unprecedented period of kidnapping/human trafficking and cartel homicides.

Hosts will get automatic qualification. I’m very sure that’s definite. USA has traditionally always qualify, barring the disaster this time round. Canada on the other hand, I can’t remember they last qualified for WC, 1986 or 1990?

One of my dream will come true. Seeing a World Cup match
2018- Leaving my wife for better things
2019 - Portugal
2026 (World Cup final)

Only dream missing is having a kid ...oh well life is good!

I'm absolutely thrilled. I was 12 years old in '94 and traveling/paying for something like a World Cup match never would've been feasible for my parents at the time.

Really hoping that Chicago is a host city, I would think they will be as it's the chief city of the middle of the country.

And yes, 2026 expands to 48 teams.

just read an article on one of the canadian tv channel websites, it said The American candidate cities are Atlanta, Baltimore, Boston, Cincinnati, Dallas, Denver, Houston, Kansas City, Los Angeles, Miami, Nashville, New York/New Jersey, Orlando, Philadelphia, San Francisco Bay Area, Seattle and Washington, D.C

Why not? It's the rules.

Let us host 2030 as Europe then?

Chicago is in the US!

You're right there dude, weed is decriminalized in Mexico, about to be legalized in Canada and is decriminalized in 13 states in the USA!

No. One every century is our allotment (if we're lucky). So, since 1966, this will be Mexico's third tournament, the Americans' second, and Canada's first. It's a joke.

If there's a lesson to be learned it's that Britain and Ireland should do a joint proposal.

From what I've read Chicago won't be one of them sorry.

I have lost all the belief in the integrity of FIFA now, change of Face at top and idiots like me started thinking there will be a change. How come USA gets a world Cup ahead of all those countries who held it before 1994. Where is the "Equality" ?

Lets just give the next 5 world cups to them or whoever fills FIFA's pockets, or the new super power. Probably China next ...

Oh wow, thanks for the info. Cincinnati would work out very well for me since Chicago is out.

But for something like this I'll fly anywhere I need to.

No surprise tho, same shit show just like for Russia, just different side of coin.
