I'm just laughing at everyone saying play the kids instead of signing premier league players.
Not saying he's good enough but he's certainly more talented than Lingard and based on what we are seeing on the pitch, offers us more than Rooney. To be fair, most players offer more than Rooney nowadays.
From a historical perspective, that name in that company is ridiculous but he was turning into a mighty fine player before his motorcycle accident which ruled him out of the 2002 world cup. I remember him going to Palace from Carlisle instead of coming to us in the 1997/98 season because he knew he would get more football there.
A great dribbler but not really a great finisher. I think he would do well in a counter attacking team like Liverpool's. His crossing and finishing are erratic, his holdup play is nonexistent, so I don't think he would be a great option as a #9 or as a winger.
Lucas Moura, on the other hand...
Think of all the NFL games and huge events he'll be able to see.He will also come to the conclusion that football doesn't count until Spurs have a new stadium.
Doesn't look anything special to me. His touch can be sublime sometimes but I've seen very limited glimpses of quality from him. Every now and then he shows a quality piece of technical skill but that's not enough IMO. Wijnaldum looks the better overall player as do a number of other players outside the rich clubs. Would be a surprising transfer. He's also a bit weak like Mata which we absolutely don't need.
Not many wide players these days are really the sort that crosses the ball into the box. I don't think Neymar or Suarez are that amazing at crossing either?
