United consider January move for Ayoze Perez

I'm just laughing at everyone saying play the kids instead of signing premier league players.

Not saying he's good enough but he's certainly more talented than Lingard and based on what we are seeing on the pitch, offers us more than Rooney. To be fair, most players offer more than Rooney nowadays.

Exactly, if it is better than what we currently have then I'm all open.

For me Perez is a more useful player than Rooney, Mata or Januzaj.. has a brilliant attitude and could be used as a flexible squad player going forwards. Not sure if he is long term first team material but as a short term fix.. he'd be a decent acquisition.

Ayoze has been very good for the last few weeks. Completely changed the tempo of matches coming in from the bench alongside Mitrovic.

From a historical perspective, that name in that company is ridiculous but he was turning into a mighty fine player before his motorcycle accident which ruled him out of the 2002 world cup. I remember him going to Palace from Carlisle instead of coming to us in the 1997/98 season because he knew he would get more football there.

Yeah to be fair, I never took note of his career, so can't really comment. I do remember him being an absolute machine on Championship manager, so there was definitely hype around him!

I think we need a game winner up front not another tidy spaniard.

We have gotten very good at making games tight, now we need someone who can win a tight game.

Perez is no all-worlder but he's only 22 and is a great finisher, of which we have only one. It would be a punt, but unless one of us here has inside knowledge of upcoming acquisitions of the Messi/Neymar/Suarez/Muller/Ronaldo/Bale category, plugging holes in the squad with players of Perez's quality will have to do.

It's players who are already past their prime who haven't been cutting it for 1-2 seasons that we have to steer clear of, not punts that have a chance of making a major impact.

A great dribbler but not really a great finisher. I think he would do well in a counter attacking team like Liverpool's. His crossing and finishing are erratic, his holdup play is nonexistent, so I don't think he would be a great option as a #9 or as a winger.

Lucas Moura, on the other hand...

Not many wide players these days are really the sort that crosses the ball into the box. I don't think Neymar or Suarez are that amazing at crossing either?

Not really what we need, I think, despite him being rather good. Would only be a rotational option, and he's a similar player to the lad we have on loan at Dortmund

If a player is openly saying United are interested in him, you can be sure that United are not seriously interested in him.

Doesn't look anything special to me. His touch can be sublime sometimes but I've seen very limited glimpses of quality from him. Every now and then he shows a quality piece of technical skill but that's not enough IMO. Wijnaldum looks the better overall player as do a number of other players outside the rich clubs. Would be a surprising transfer. He's also a bit weak like Mata which we absolutely don't need.

Couldn't put it any better myself. If you watched highlights or a Youtube video of this lad i'm sure he'd look class but having watched quite a few Newcastle games this season he's not stood out massively. Looks a tidy player with the odd bit of magic but not United quality.

Their finishing makes up for it, while Ayoze averages about a goal every four games.

Got his big move then...........to Leicester.

He's always been a funny one. Was massively hyped and also linked to Spurs around the time of Man. United links and everytime I'd watch him and wonder what the fuss was about.

He did have a very good end to season though and Leicester should be finishing at least 8th imo with how they ended the season so interested how he's used in their system.
