Can still call it Old Trafford as it's still within the area. The stadium is named after the area it's in, so no need to change it.
If not, Trafford Park, Trafford Wharfside to go alongside the wider redevelopment of the area.

Wembley kept its name, there's no reason Old Trafford can't if its built practically in the same spot.

Don't think anybody knows the source of funding yet, but ineos have a history of getting funding for big projects.
Can get a loan secured against future revenue, if the wider redevelopment includes hotels, housing, retail, office, events etc then there would be plenty of partners. So future profits from all these would be attracted to funding partners.
People think Gary Neville is in this because his connections to the club and the city.. But he's also a property developer and has been able to secure funding for all his ventures.
I lived in Stratford and Hackney Wick.. Both East and West side of the Olympic park. He headed up the bid, and the Olympic and a large part of that was the regeneration of the area before, during and after the Olympics and the park was built.

There is enough room. You may need to take down one or two stands towards the end of the build to make enough room for one side of the ground but that’s not impractical. Bilbao and Spurs did similar things.
And an artificial lake for the INEOS sailing team.

What's the consensus here currently? Last time it was a near even split for and against a new stadium.
Means we need to absolutely nail the next managerial appointment and the next two windows because we might not be able to spend big on players for a while.
Of course the Glazers are supportive, they’ve done nothing with the stadium for 20 years and some else is now doing it for them.
As much as it would hurt to see Old Trafford go I don't see us having much choice if we want a modern state-of-the-art stadium.
Looking forward to seeing some designs in the near future, would be interesting for sure.

I hope we try to be a little different because I fear that our new stadium will look like the Emirates and Estadio da Luiz which are basically the same

A new stadium on site is the right choice. The current Old Trafford has fallen too far behind to be properly salvaged. Why spend basically the same trying to redo the current ground when we can build a state of the art new one?
If they get the design right then it will be easier to get onboard the new build idea.
But if we are just left with a generic Spurs or Arsenal modern stadium at the end it will be a shame to lose Old Trafford.

They built a bug chunk of the new stadium around the old one and then when they had to knock down WHL, that's when they moved to Wembley.
