I think with 90-100k seats you can afford to do both. Have a whole single tiered stand that is dedicated to locals at fair prices. Say 30-40k seats.
Then look to cash in on the remainder, which is still more seats than almost every other ground in the league.

There should be as many affordable spaces as possible.
Hospitality packages (exec boxes etc) will still bring in the extra £. Sponsorship of those exec areas is a potential goldmine.
Extra space presumably means you can bring catering in house. That's an another interesting opportunity. Having a massive restaurant/bar open all year is also worth looking at.
In the middle of a long lasting cost of living crisis, the club has an opportunity to do something important for matchgoing fans. State of the art facilities are important but so is atmosphere and creating somewhere where working class parents can take their kids more than once a season.
Seeing a match at Old Trafford is one my bucket list, so it looks like I should try to make that happen in the next few years.

Difficult to see how the club could take on more debt with the Glazers' debt still sat on the balance sheet (for which OT is prime collateral). I think it is more likely that Ineos will finance it together with other third parties.

Opposition fans are crying because it’s going to be tax payers money by the looks of it. They get around that by regenerating the area and making it a national stadium used for more than just man united.

I think a new stadium in the same spot is the best of both worlds for me. I'd be sad to see us leave that exact site like many, but renovating Old Trafford doesn't look to be the best bang for your buck.
He’s just some tool that got left on the shelf too often.
So where is the club getting the funds for this from, it cant be 100% tax payer funded and they cant borrow on top of the existing debt? Are INEOS going to pay for it then lease it to the club rent free?
Has to be New Trafford or keep the Old Trafford name.

I can see the proposed new training ground being called the INEOS Training Centre, but I don’t think they’ll put naming rights on the stadium, unless a quite frankly ridiculous high offer comes in from a company for it.
I hope we stay clear of the trendy toilet bowl/bed pan designs. Spurs' stadium is crap.

I'd been in two minds up until the INEOS investment. Their sheer determination from the off to build a new stadium that would be considered 'best in class', is a breath of fresh air.
The Glazers would only have patched Old Trafford up in places once serious health and safety issues developed.
I truly love Old Trafford. It's one of the most iconic stadiums in the world. However, there are simply too many problems that realistically, cannot be solved, i.e. More leg room, larger concourses, extending the South Stand.

Jimmy/Ineos will likely finance this. Probably a £3b loan. We know they have plenty of finance options. The better the stadium the quicker it pays for itself.
