United aiming to sell Harry Maguire next summer according to Jamie Jackson

£80m defender, and captain, who is our 4th choice centre half. It’s clear he has to go, ETH is paving the way for it.

Harry probably wants to go as well. Carve out a decent career at a mid table team and stop being a figure of fun. Suits everyone.

No surprise on Maguire, certainly looked to be on the cards.

On Fred, surely we could extend by 12 months and sell him? I know the club have been mocked for preserving value but I've got no doubt we could sell Fred

Has retaining value by handing out contract extensions ever worked for us?

All it ever does is mean we're stuck with a player we don't want for another year or two.

Makes sense really. Despite the stick he gets on here I am sure someone like Conte and Spurs or Eddie Howe and Newcastle would absolutely love to have Maguire.

He's not suited to how ETH wants to play, that much is clear and it's a total distraction to have him sat on the bench, especially as captain

Would love either one of those two to give us 40m+ for that fraud. Would feel so confident playing Newcastle knowing we get to press Maguire high up the pitch

Neither will be missed really.
That's a stretch.
Than Maguire? Not at all. Fred has had multiple good seasons and has had multiple very good big game performances, and even now is a very good squad player that is useful to close games out, provide pressing, etc. He's at the age where it's smart to let him go, but he's exactly what you want as a squad player midfielder with his energy.

Maguire is just a liability whenever he plays and doesn't have use other than a tall guy to deal with high balls.

Praying he has a good Euros so West Ham will cough up £40m or something stupid.

Probably won't play unfortunately.

Fred can barely trap a football ffs and is a massive liability when pressed. Wow he runs around a lot, but leaves gaping gaps down the side and behind him because he doesn't press methodically or with any intelligence. His passing range is awful, his shooting is worse, the guy is bang average and we massively overpaid at £52m.

He also hasn't had one good season, never mind multiple, the standards of performances to expect of a United player have massively slipped over the last 10 years if people think this guy has perfromed well.

Makes sense, he doesn't suit EtH style, but he could go to any number of teams and play regularly and play well, as long as they play 5 at the back and 2 CDMs.

Maybe spurs. Hes a counter attacking team defender. He has no speed so has to play in a counter attacking team.

Southgate will start him. He’s actually never really let England down and they play with such a deep defensive side he’s a good fit.

The annoying thing is that you know he'll look half decent in that kind of set up and we'll have idiots knocking the club for not getting the best out of him and all that nonsense.

Maguire will start for England and - mark my words/Quote me or whatever - he will have a good tournament

England will play in a low block, probably with Harry as part of a 3, probably behind Rice and Phillips

England will concede about 2/3 goals and go out in knockout stage.

Maguire will look solid, might score a goal and January/Summer will be ideal time to sell him

He's not a starting Manchester United CB and certainly not a Ten Hag CB

If we can sell Maguire and get Timber for net 0, it would be a major improvement in our squad.
