Under 21 Euros 2019

Fabián is playing a great match.
I see him with a lot of confidence and security.
I have not followed his year in Napoli but he should be named so much or more than Saúl/Rodri,etc.
Golazo Ceballos

He was fantastic for Napoli

Belgium pull one back. Great goal

We've kinda given up honestly...

Uff, watching Spain returning to the false 9 here against Poland is cracking stuff really. So far for me Spain and Germany look the best 2 sides on the competition, even if France has individual quality to match up.

Don’t buy at all the narrative Spain is crap at senior level. Not when you have midfielders and fullbacks like they constantly produce.

Really the quality of the Spanish midfielders is ridiculous for this level. Impressed with Martin too, didn’t knew he is playing for Mainz.

Yet we run them off the park

Great strike by Chiesa. Tonali was very impressive after coming in. Shame Italy is likely going out, format is brutal.

So Italy need:

group B:
Basically a German win/draw against Austria, coupled with Denmark not beating Serbia by more than 2 goals

and

group C:
Romania beating France or France winning by at least three goals.

?

It's all about GD yeah. We're +3, austria and denmark are 0(iirc), romania +6 and france +2

If Romania and France draw each other Italy is out. Let’s see what happens.

In the first half not really imo. But overall I think they have the best midfielders in this competition.
First 30 minutes. Once we got into the game they couldn't cope with us. They're technical, but will struggle against any fast, physical team that gets into their face instead of letting them play their game

Poland were always a good match for them, just as they were a bad match for us, just as we were a bad match for Spain. In the end they did better in the h2h, so deserved 1st for them

I don't see France playing for a draw against Romania.
I am not saying they will do it, but it’s something plausible to happen. Of course it will depend if they beat Romania, if it will be enough for Romania to advance.

Spain U21 is a mirror of their men's team. Very technical, but slow and lacking incisive forwards and goalscorers. Not surprising they tend to attack better when they play without real forwards.

Ours is the opposite. The men's side is a lot like a poorer version of Spain, this U21 is like a Klopp team

W O R L D C L A S S S C H M I D T

what's wrong with him?

I’d never heard of Waldschmidt or Richter before this tournament yet both are easily shining the brightest in this tournament.

Waldschmidt showed some promise for Freiburg, although not even starting for them regularly. Richter came even more out of nowhere. To be fair I don't think the level of defending is very high though. Players are afforded a lot of time at the edge of the box, resulting in a ridiculous amount of long shot goals being scored across the tournament.

3 games, 3 penalty calls against germany...at least they're consistent.

Can see why the ref gave it. Stupid from the Germany keeper.

Very good pen

Looks like Joakim Maehle has another goal contribution for Denmark. Anyone watching? Seriously think he’s the next big thing from the Belgian league.

I think Maehle is linked with a transfer to an English team.
Also Skov seems a decent prospect - He s a United fan

In Germany vs Austria game, Austria looks the better of the two teams till now.

It was Southampton sniffing around Genk for Maehle around the winter window, IIRC.
