Ed Milliband is unelectable. British elections are now almost as Presidential as American ones, and Ed just doesn't have the right image.

Probably true. Even before all the campaigning all I heard was negative stuff about Ed. The more I listened to him, I liked him but I know others including my mum who said they just didn't want him running the country because he doesn't look or sound like a leader.

I can't stand her. Charlie Brooker was being kind when he said he looked like an actress in a biscuit advert. Not sure I've seen a more hate-filled politician since Adolf Hitler tbh. Vile bigoted privileged lawyer woman

 I missed that.

and I actually found him likeable :(. Man I hope that scotland hold another referendum. I'm sure that the fact hat 99% people voted for SNP and will get Tories will be enough for us to leave now. We might be worse off economically but well so what :/. Better than getting completely dicked this year

Result from my village:

Lab - 1
Con - 0
UKIP - ½

That is not what i was hoping you would say, i was hoping that you were going to tell me that i can expect a labour swing down there, i think the tories are going to win down here too, possibly UKIP, i'll be shocked if it's labour.

Oh jeez no

Seriously, South Hams will never ever be anything other than Tory, it's the most expensive place to live outside of London. All big Tory voters but UKIP are growing stronger because of the scaremongering over the EU that the fisherman and farmers all love to hear.

Torbay has been Liberal for a while but always used to be Tory so if it was going to change it would be back to Tory. Lots and lots of UKIP now because of farming and fishing issues, and immigrants in Torbay (that most normal and rational people don't see as an issue) the UKIP scaremongering is strong down here.

The one guarantee I can make is that the South Hams and Torbay will NOT go to Labour. If either do I will eat my hat! (or not)

Louise Mensch on the Channel 4 coverage :nono:

On the upside it seems we might soon have our first Portillo moment of the night, with Douglas Alexander's seat coming-up now...

Douglas Alexander's seat up now, a big one.

Surprising amount of pro-tories at work tonight. A lot of the vitriol was aimed at Miliband personally, mainly irrelevant and childish stuff. At the time I thought his brother would have been a much greater choice (and I knew nothing about them really) but it seems like my (then) ignorance is a fair reflection of other peoples' ignorance of today. Extremely poor choice of leadership.

SNP domination is one thing the polls got bang on.

How will the Sun play it i wonder...

People need to get real. Even if every single person up here voted Labour it wouldn't make a difference!

Ask yourself why Labour are taking a tanking in England ffs. Why did everyone go from Lib Dem to Tory or UKIP? The Tories stirring up English nationalism has done far more damage to the Labour party than the Scottish nationalism has.
I didn't think that Salmonds economic plans made sense at all...but now I am completely dismayed by the fact the cameron will be leading us again despite the WHOLE of SCOTLAND being against him. Its a complete fecking joke. I want out an I feel stupid for voting no right now.

The youngest ever MP has ousted Labour's shadow foreign secretary. Incredible.

 A fecking 20 year old has been elected to the Commons?

Ridiculous.

My experience of the situation too.

I've actually grown to quite like him, but he doesn't have that 'authoritative' look of a Cameron. And that kind of thing is becoming more and more important.

Scotland independent within a decade, nailed on.

Wow Douglas Alexander got smashed by like 6,000 votes

Always had an irrational hatred of the smug little twat, but damn that's a big statement.

Thats just ridiculous

They could have put a dog up as a candidate and it would have probably won!

Seriously feck this complete joke of an election. 20 year old wining the fecking vote.

Every single person in Scotland could've voted Labour and it would still make no difference. The need for Labour voters/members to pin all of their own failures upon Scotland is getting tiring.

Bullshit. You can't have your cake and eat it.Either voting SNP makes a difference and you said that's why you vote that way or it doesn't. I think it does but the biggest difference is in the way England votes because of it. Scotland voting SNP has cost Labour the election honestly I don't know how you can argue against the point, nothing else seems to have been discussed for the last 6 months.
