Baddiel has just hit the nail on the head.

The Corbynistas need to stop telling everyone with a different opinion to "feck off and join the Tories".

100%

It's been a nasty campaign from both, but young Corbynistas have been especially vitriolic and condescending to anybody with any kind of opposing view, no matter how moderate.

Corbyn will be gone tomorrow, I hope for the sake of a good opposition, Momentum are right behind him.

If the exit poll is right Brexit party has been an utterly pointless entity..

Pointless if they wanted to win seats, but that was never the aim. The aim was to damage Labour enough to ensure a Tory majority which would deliver Brexit.

Tories double the Labour vote in Swindon.

You’re not paying attention. Everyone in the thread is aware of the echo chamber. You’re mixing up delusion and disappointment.

Yeah perhaps.

With a massive 40% margin between Tory and labour voters on the caf though, I just felt delusion is exactly what was going on here, given the massive win.

Momentum killed the party. You don't go full Corbyn, no matter how appetising it sounds. You need to compromise with what others want. Ironically, you need to be socialist.

Which 'others' are you talking about?

The centre is dead. This idea that if the Labour party stayed/moved back to the centre they would see electoral success is a canard. It doesn't matter how hard you wish it will happen, there is no return to pre-15 politics. Brexit, Trump and global Trumpism is the new normal and we need to adapt to that.

What the first few results seem to show is that in a Brexit election, Labour haven't done enough to get their message out to their 'heartland'. A movement like Momentum has done some brilliant things, but it's membership is primarily young working class people from big cities. Vote Leave seem to have been more successful in channeling small town dissatisfaction, and Labour haven't been able to cut through to Brexit voters in the same way.

I deleted it from there as I assumed a mod would have done so at some point anyway.

It's a shame posts like the awful constant troll-like ones are allowed and nothing done about them, and yet yours (which was maybe a bit extreme in places maybe, although not in my opinion) are deleted within a couple of minutes.

Shut it bitch, I'm running this show on my own and doing the best I can.

ed balls and alan johnson had lively conversation with john lansman [momentum] with alan Johnson calling momentum a cult on itv

Baddiel absolutely nailed it on c4 there. Momentum and corbynistas turned labour from an electoral force into a protest farce.

Tom watson also looking smug

People share their own views and opinions in here, the margin is indicative of RedCafe’s own thoughts, not a prediction or representative of the country.

This is a pretty pathetic post.
Your initial joke was painfully unfunny. The kind of shit that’s posted by someone who thinks minion memes are the epoch of comedy. However it wasn’t a malicious joke or even a targeted one, so I disagree with @Shamwow ‘s response. The joke was shit but there’s nothing wrong with it morally.

But to then brag about your properties(no one gives a shit mate) and tag in a mod because someone called you a name, damn. That’s some real lame shit.

Feel free to tag in the entire mod team in your response, and if you feel the need just dial 999.

I think I’d dial 101 rather than 999.

feedback from elsewhere is that the joke was actually mildly amusing, maybe not laugh out loud, maybe more of a dad type joke groan.

I wasn’t bragging about properties, and only mentioned the no. when prompted by the poster. I do however admit, that this was a reaction to his post, that quite frankly I shouldn’t have done. How many people on here actually admit they have reacted incorrectly?

I got called up for a very mild insult, so think I’m within my rights to call out when someone calls me a cnut.

Works both ways because the centrists are saying get out of the party too. There should be room for both.
Until an investment banker with a proven track record of success with start up businesses (before selling them once they become successful mid sized organisations) and former military service who also doesn't move his money overseas turns up who believes in socialist ideals while at the same time being a charismatic debater.... we're fecked.

If the exit poll is correct. The reality is, Brexit has potentially taken away Labour heartlands. The Labour policy of a second referendum, which actually was rather centrist (and is the most rational solution), failed.

If Labour had focused on exiting the EU then they wouldn't have lost the brexit 'traditional' labour voters in the North.

I'm not convinced by that at all. Corbyn was still much more unpopular than we realised, they still would have lost.

However, I agree it wouldn't have been this bad. Jesus, if they are correct, that's a hammering :(

True, but one side really are being much more aggresive and have been for ages. It has just made things worse.

I don't see how the split can be healed, not without some real inward thinking. That's not Labour's way though, never has been.

Youthquake in swindon at a recorded magnitude of -7.8. Must mean the weed is top quality there.

Swindon N showing a big loss for Labour and everyone else gained. Probably a good example how Labour binned it.

Labour's left wing policies will turned off a few voters but ultimately if the people were crying out for centrism the Labour vote in the North would have gone Lib Dem. The fact that the vast majority of it went Brexit Party says it all.

I have a bad feeling about that. This isn't the end of the Labour split imo.

The more adult response would have been to report the post rather than moan about it in the thread. You're rightly earned scorn in this thread for some of your posts but I'm going to try to apply the rules fairly.

Labour were going to give free bus travel to under 25s. The buses are already a nightmare and that would have made it even worse.

That’s actually a fair explanation. I was going with hyperbolic viciousness for comedic purposes, but I should probably keep my shit to myself as I react far worse to pretty mild crap.
