This is the only time I enjoy being 8 hours behind you guys back home. I'll be able to go to bed at a normal time still and watch it all.
Ugh I'm four hours ahead this time, so will find out tomorrow:(

Keep the faith. We may be small in number on redcafe but thankfully this a echo chamber and not indicative of the wider public.

Genuinely interested. What terrifies you about it?

Regulars on this thread will know I was very against Corbyn. But also hated Boris even more. Through the continual arguements put forward by the likes of @Pexbo, @Ultimate Grib, @CassiusClaymore @Fluctuation0161 @SteveJ and several others, I came to realise that nothing could be worse than voting Tory and BJ. So thanks for your persistence and wisdom.

I’ve spent past week convincing perhaps as many as 25 people in my constituency to put aside personal interests and vote Labour. And just voted Labour myself. Ours could be a close call so hoping I made a difference.

I think the country needs a hung parliament so compromise is made between BJ and Corbyn’s visions. It might be painful and slow, but the country needs to make balanced decisions at this critical juncture.

That's irrelevant, your comment saying 'not indicative of the wider public' includes the entire wider public, not just those who show up to voting polls. The reality is, this 'echo chamber' is very indicative of the wider public, which has nothing to do with whether that wider public decide to show up to the polls or not - as great as that would be. But I guess it makes you feel better to move the goalposts as to what constitutes 'the wider public' so it might make you feel better about your minority views.
It clearly isn't 'irrelevant' though is it as those who dont vote dont count. It is a real election not a who I think I want with the power of my mind.

Its not often you say no to a BJ.

I always knew you were a good'n.

Clearly from a previous election. UKIP is one clue, the badly photoshopped face on Boris Johnson inserted is another (no light reflected, at the wrong angle). And the logic that exit polls can't be posted before 10pm.

Also ITV themselves won't have access to the data until just before 10pm.

Only people who know are the exit poll team who can't send any data to the media til the very last minute.

Thank you @sammsky1, all jokes aside in the thread that means a lot if we have actually managed to make a difference like that.

I went to vote straight from work at about 5:00PM and there was a stream of people coming out (families bringing their kids). I was the only one there to cast a vote. After voting I heard the number 304 from the ladies at the desk. Could mean anything but suppose that's the number of people who turned up. 300 votes in 10 hours, 30 votes an hour...sounds pretty good turn out to me at my station which is a primary school.

Honestly, you had to me worried for a while these last few weeks :)

1) Am Jewish
2) Small business owner
3) Eurosceptic
4) Spending oblivion.

So as a Jew, what do you think will happen to you if for the sake of argument Corbyn has a small majority?

And in what way do you think it would affect your business?

Do you think a No Deal Brexit would have an effect on your business?

It's completely irrelevant, you know it is. It isn't the point you tried to make. You stated that the views of RedCafe are not indicative of the wider public and you are simply wrong on that. The wider public are left leaning. Maybe you meant to say 'the views of RedCafe are not indicative of the minority we are in fact in, but that just so happens to narrowly win in polls through higher turnout' most likely because it doesn't sound as great. Views and actions are two different things, but you made a statement about views and not about actions.

Genuinely interested. What terrifies you about it?
Terrifies me is a bit strong. I just hate Labour with the same passion you probably hate the Tories. You would never vote Tory would you? Even if they had the most amazing manifesto ever. I suppose voting is tribal to a large majority. Not many floating voters in reality.

Well played mate.

I do sometimes feel like I'm just ranting in this thread so thanks for the shout out!

Annoyingly I now live in the speakers constituency so couldn't vote Labour myself!

Ok mate you win. I havent the energy to go in circles.

That's very American.

But I'm 100% a floating voter, so is my GF and quite a lot of people I know. Each election I vote for who I think is best, or in this case, least worst.

I find the whole idea of lifelong support for a political party and not caring about the manifestos incredibly bizarre.

How did it start? Were you born with silver spoon inserted?

The first clerk on the desk has a numbered list of registered voters, when you hand over your card or say your name they shout that number out and the second person crosses it off their list so they have a double-check on the number of ballot papers handed out compared to the number of voters that have turned up. 304 would mean the 304th name on the list would just have turned up.

I would argue you are in the minority.

Its a bit like religion - you get indoctrinated and your views get reinforced by those around you who think the same.
