UEFA Super Cup

It absolutely does. They're all the same, friendlies.

No UEFA Super Cup isn't. It's a minor trophy but it's still a trophy. It's a cup.

Community Shield isn't even a cup. It's just a shield, beside it had 6 subs allowed in comparison to the regular 3 back then, so it's not a trophy indeed.

What an unlucky guy. He started last season with an injury in preseason too.

Rudiger plays the ball and gets a yellow. Who was sent off last season for kicking the ball?

Rudiger did what any old school centre back would do there, win the ball and get the man as a bonus. Used to never be a foul.

Crazy that he was booked. He's a dirty cnut, but that was totally fine.

Would have been a class goal. Waiting for Tuchel’s luck to run out

That was a fantastic tackle. It's the kind of tackle that would get me out of my seat if I was in the ground. Loved it. Bizarre booking.

Tbf to Villarreal if they had a striker they’d probably be ahead…

Neither of them are trophies that anyone gives a shit about. You can win trophies in pre-season mini tournaments too. They still mean feck all.

Except UEFA Super Cup isn't a pre-season friendly tournament.

Just because some don't care about it doesn't mean it's not a trophy. It's a minor one but it still counts. Same for Fifa Club World Cup. Is the whole argument based on if people care about it or not ?

That yellow for Rudiger shows how far football has fallen.

Weren't we literally close to bottle our 6-2 lead against Roma in the away tie, when they missed about 2 or 3 close goals in space of few minutes ?
Very different circumstances as we won the tie already after the first leg, but who cares? That was not the point. We were closer to winning against Villarreal than bottling against Roma, but a win is a win and a loss is a loss and knock-out games are most of the time very close anyway.

Of course it's a trophy, just as the Community Shield is or its other national Super Cup equivalents. Just very insignificant trophies.

Comm shield, Super Cup and Club world Cup. None are worth anything.

Its a European cup regardless how much anyone cares or not. Its prestigious because you need to be a European Champion to take part. Obviously fans whose clubs are not taking part dont care, I know I woule love to be in it instead of this yellow shower.
Chelsea can have 8 European trophies if they win this, while we have only 6 total.

It’s a pre season friendly. Nobody gives two fecks about the hence the lack of coverage for it

A final is a final though. I mean i get what you're saying, but finals are just a bit different. The stakes are higher. Logically it might not make much sense, but mentally it's hard to treat a final the same as other games i think

CBS Sports is showing it here for me. They show the Champions League.

He's been by far the best player of ours in preseason. Typical.

So the whole argument about it being a trophy or not is indeed if people care about it or not ? As long as football fans don't care about it, it doesn't count ?

No one saying it's a major trophy. It's a minor one. Saying it's a "friendly" is laughable though.

Scouse mentality.

No, Community Shield is different. As I said above it always had the formula of an unofficial match, considering it had 6 subs in comparison to the regular 3. Same can't be said about UEFA Super Cup or any other national Super Cup in general. They're all minor trophies but they do count in your overall trophies number.
