UEFA Champions League Round of 16 - 4/3/25 - 12/3/25

Watching this at the bar with some neutrals. One of them said “it’s about time Liverpool got a decision tbf - they’re very unlucky”

I’d been waiting for this. All season when we’ve been watching the Scouse play at the pub - I’ve written down when he said Liverpool deserve a decision going their way. He’d said it EIGHT times in total and genuinely couldn’t remember any of them. Once I pointed it out he said “yeah, I do remember some of them actually - that Dalot red card was one of the most scandalous things I’ve ever seen. Yet when I watch Sky - it always feels like they get nothing and it’s United that benefit from decisions.

Wait there I said - whipped out my phone and made everyone watch the penalty we conceded v West Ham. Then the Coventry penalty last year. The Bruno red card v Tottenham.

He was shocked. “But all the pundits just mention United getting everything.”

It might be getting through people. Just got to keep calm and present facts.
This is why I dislike Neville, he could have been our advocate like all the scouse pundits but he twists the knife in harder than most.

PSG can't afford to be wasteful in 2nd half, Liverpool will for sure step up on Anfield.

Can’t believe how good PSG are. Much better than Liverpool tonight. Counts for nothing though at 0-0. Was just laughing out loud at what this PSG team would do against United at the moment….

I always knew that Liverpool hadn’t played anyone good yet. First proper team they meet and look at them.

Well that was quite the 0-0 battering.

At least when Rafa played defensively away in Europe, we'd actually be solid. Worst of both worlds tonight.

Slot learning on the job here. Hope he's a quick study.

If Real Madrid played like this against Liverpool we would be leading by a couple.

PSG is amazing but not scoring goals will cost them in the end.

PSG dominated that first half but left to wonder how they are no leading. Now watch Liverpool go on to win 2nd half and journalists, pundits saying it was a great and professional performance by them.

They bring Kvara, we bring Dorgu.
And when you see psg , they are 3 behind when in possession, just like us.

Don't know if PSG players will be able to keep this up physically in the 2nd half. Even if Liverpool trying to timewaste since the very start of the game must help.

Vitinha, Neves, and Fabián—how many midfielders of that profile do we actually have? You could argue only Mainoo fits the bill, yet the club remains fixated on signing ball winners and high-energy runners like Mount, Ugarte and Casemiro who lack the ability to truly dictate the tempo of a game.

What's worrying is those three cost around 150M.
They also have Zaire Emery and Doué can also play on the 8.

And now they apparently want to sign Kimmich.
I really cant see why they would need him.
Can any PSG fan tell me?

Bayern should strive to score more in the second half, Leverkusen aren't playing well tonight.

PSG playing their best football in the petrodollar era.

Liverpool weren't in the game at all. Total disconnect.

When I see their players, they are better then us in every position. We on another end, can’t buy a proper midfielder for more then 10 years. The last one was probably Carrick.
That’s very sad.

So this is the Liverpool that is walking the PL, the best and most physical league in the world? PSG are two steps ahead not just technically but also physically.

And I know he has great stats, but I don't think Salah is close to being the best player in the world. He's slowed down considerably and isn't as good as he was a few years ago, regardless of what stats say.

Vitinha currently 38/38 passes (most on the pitch) as PSG currently have 63% possession in the game. Would kill for a midfielder like this in the middle of our team
Incredible metronome midfielder. Can see Madrid throwing everything at PSG for him.

Can’t believe he’s was at Wolves!

Sure looks like a night to dig up the "Relative strength of the premier league" thread.

You’re watching the wrong game mate.
I really enjoying Barca play football and what's the point of watching PSG miss a million chances and then to watch Liverpool nick it at the end? I didn't think they'd get a win here today but looks like they're living a very charmed life today.

PSG have been meh in the CL for most of this season.

Well they were mostly shit in 2024.
They really weren't. This first half is PSG through most of the group stage. They routinely made their opponents look worse than pub teams, missed 50 million sitters, and then got sucker punched at the end

I watched 2-3 of their CL group games and they were fairly poor in those. Even the City game, although they won, I thought they were fairly pedestrial till they went 2 down. They've been a lot lot better in the last two months, ofcourse.

More of a Europa than CL piece of news, but the Lyon manager just got suspended for 9 months.
