Can see a tight affair. Don't really care who wins, would like it for Bayern's manager a bit though.

Can't wait for this, should be a great game. Think it will be a very tight game as well. Dortmund is probably the only team these past 2 years that Bayern have not managed to get the better of consistently or convincingly, I'm pretty sure Dortmund has a better record in these last 2 years as well. In fact, in the last 7 games against each other, Dortmund have won 3 games, drawn twice and lost twice (3 wins last season, and then 2 draws and 2 defeats (super cup, and DFB pokal) this season).
There definitely won't be a blow out by one team dominating the game I think.
Actually looking at the head to head statistics, since the start of 2010/11, Dortmund won 5 games on the trot, then lost twice and drew twice against Munich.

Gotze and Hummels both look like they will be fit to play, although they may not be 100%. I think for Bayern only Kroos and Badstuber are injured, although I'm not sure on Kroos' situation if he will be fit enough for the final, or even if there is a chance he'll be back.

If I had to guess, I'd say Bayern will win it because I can't see them losing their 3rd final in the last 4 years. Going for Dortmund though.

If Götze is not fit, then what will Kloop do? Will he play Gundögan behind Lewandowski and play Sahin and Bender behind him or play Reus behind the striker with Gundogan and Bender behind him?

Lewandowski

Reus------Gundogan------Kuba

Sahin--------Bender

Lewandowski

Grosskeutz------Reus------Kuba

Gundogan-------Bender

5 days to go, getting nervous a bit :)

As i wrote in the Bundesliga Thread, both teams tested their first 11 in the otherwise pointless games last weekend. Well, almost pointless - Bayern wanted to give Heynckes a nice send-off at his home ground, and Dortmund wanted to please their fans by removing their 2nd least favourite Hoffenheim from the league - with mixed results.
Bayern looked completely confident even after conceding 3 in the first 10 minutes and turned the game around with ease, whereas Dortmund showed some nerves, gave away two clear penalties, received a red card and came close to losing Hummels.

I wonder if Hummels and Götze can play on saturday - i guess Götze will start on the bench if at all. Hummels will play although at what fitness level remains to be seen.

The Munich Philharmonic Orchestra (together with members of the Bavarian Radio Choir, of the Choir of the Bavarian States Opera and of the Choir of the University Munich) gives its tribute

(the composition is a a mixture between the British, the Bavarian and the CL hymn)

Lots of buzz around the city at the moment - some are more optimistic than others, but the overall feeling is already being likened to 1997, when Dortmund beat favourites Juventus Turn 3-1 in Munich to clinch their first Champions League title.

The form on the actual day will decide the winner. Previous results, in the Bundesliga or in the games leading up to the final, will now be meaningless.

If I was to predict a result, I'd probably say 2-1 or 3-1 to Bayern. Can only see a Dortmund win if their back four has a great game and if Lewandowski can add a goal or two. Like I said, the team's form on the day will decide the game's outcome.

I hope this delivers the kind of exciting final that their performances in the CL this season have promised. I'd love for Dortmund to win but I think Bayern will be just too powerful for them.

I'm very interested to see the midfield battle between Martinez/Schweinstieger and Gundogan/Bender.

Got £300 sitting in my bookies account. Very tempted to lump it on Dortmund at 4/1. I really fancy them for some reason.

Mario #Götze had to pull out off training due to his ongoing thigh problems. Shook his head when he left the field. #BVB #UCL

Doesn't look too good for him.

I wouldn't expect too much. Domestic cup final (and that glorified pre season friendly) aside their last 5 matches ended either 1:0 or 1:1.
It'll be a tense match, but unless the difference in matchday form is huge I expect a midfield battle for most of the match.
I see Bayern as Favourites (probably 70:30 or smth like that) because they have been performing as consistently as a machine this season, while Dortmund have had many ups and downs. If Dortmund have a day like they did against Madrid at home it'll probably be 50:50.

I think we could also see the retrun of Klopp's 'christmas tree':

Weidenfeller
Piszczek Subotic Hummels Schmelzer
Gündogan Sahin Bender
Kuba Reus
Lewa

Me too. There nas never been much between them when they played this season at all, last season Dortmund owned Bayern completely in a final. I'd say the chances are pretty even, perhaps Bayern are slight favourites but bookies odds don't reflect how close it is which is why I'd rather put money on Dortmund.

As a honorary Bavarian, and based on the fact I'll be watching it in Garmisch, I'm going with Bayern to win, 2-1.

Half made up my mind. Definitely sticking £100 on Dortmund but going to do an anytime scorer. Very unsure between reus and lewandowski.

To be fair he paraphrased a German Sky reporter and local Dortmund media has reported the same.

Hope it doesn't go to penalties. It will go on forever.

I know you're joking, but Dortmund is pretty horrible on penalities. Their amount of missed penalties is shocking and Weidenfeller is not exactly famous for saving penalities either. So while the stereotype suggest an infinite penalty shootout I'd bet all my money on Bayern if it goes that far.

I'm really hoping for a great game, an almost anti-Clasico which is purely based on footballing merit and two wonderful teams playing great football. Unfortunately, like many CL finals I think the occasion will dictate some caution as both teams will inevitably be reluctant to go behind. Did I read that Hummels is doubtful for the game as well as Gotze?

fecking hell Bob....how you been, man!

Well, actually working for the past 4 1/2 years (missed you guys). Management frowned on use of government computers for "social networking." Try to explain to civil service leeches that the RedCAfe is NOT "social networking," it is vital communication with the human race (and Man Utd fans).

So--I recently retired from sending criminals to prison and decided to get back and see what's happening.

I hope Dortmund wins, but you can't begrudge Bayern the win if they do beat Dortmund.

I wonder if Goetze will play?

As someone who ate a frankfurter once, I'm tipping Bayern to win 2-1.
