UEFA Champions League - 29/01/25

Watkins has been an absolute handful tonight. Only Celtic and all that, and Rogers will take all the plaudits.... but Watkins set up two of them and could have had like 4 himself.

Well, I’d rather have an exit against City than another spanking by Barca. Only so much I can take in a season and we’re due for another one in LaLiga

Wtf is the goals show doing. Atalanta need a goal to qualify, and they are showing PSV Liverpool?

If I was Madrid I'd score an own goal to play Celtic and set up City v Bayern.

Half time scores should count as full time. That's the twist this final day needed.

Phew more than half the team injured but we still made it.

It's 9/10 vs 23/24 with a draw for the exact matches

Ah right to be honest don't see either Real or Bayern having too much trouble with this City team. Real will tear us asunder on the break. Bayern might be a bit of goal fest with Bayern winning 6 or 7-4 on aggregate.

This is bullacrap i demand a redo

What's Flo doing ffs. Tell those uefa lackeys to do their job properly!

I don't remember who it was that said we were much better than Brugge, but they should watch what we did today

How does the table work in terms of the determining the qualifying matches?

Not a fan of this new format. Just creating more games for pure monetary sake.

So City can still be in it, despite being crap, and thanks largely to playing a Bruge side that had qualified at half time?
City get to face Bayern or Madrid for their troubles so it's not too bad

Interesting PSG guaranteed a French team in the draw.
Milan v Juve. PSV v Feyenoord also a possibility.

Some potentially tasty games.

City, Bayern, Madrid, Bayer and Atletico (and Celtic if we want to be precise ) will be down to 2 by the final 8. That much is essentially guaranteed.

AS Monaco/Brest vs PSG/Benfica (Liverpool or Barcelona in R16)

Sporting/Brugge vs Atalanta/BvB (Lille or Aston Villa in R16)

Celtic/City vs Real Madrid/Bayern Munich (Atlético Madrid or Leverkusen in R16)

Feyenoord/Juventus vs Milan/PSV (Arsenal or Inter Milan in R16)

Clubs from the same country can face each other.

Liverpool's side of the bracket is a joke.

Rewarded with taking it seriously then I guess... the top 4 are rightfully in a much better place to get to the final 4. Though it's down to pure luck that 5/6 in Bayer and Atletico have ended up "on paper" in a worse place than the two below in Villa and Lille. The only major issue is PSG lingering.

8 rounds of matches later, all the teams that were expected to go through end up making it through. What an exciting competition.
