UEFA Champions League 24/25 - Playoff Round - 11/02/25 - 12/02/25 and 18/02/25 - 19/02/25

Why are they 8 points behind Gent if by far the best in Belgium?

Genk. Because they dropped some points as they are playing Champions League. There are playoffs in Belgium between the top 6, where points are halved, so they would be 4 points behind.

They are the best team, have been for years. 5 titles in 7 years.

Apologies Genk, and why currently 8 points behind them?
Belgium has one of the goofiest league systems in the world.

At some point the league splits in half and the teams at each end play each other. Points earned before that only count for half, so a team like Brugge might have rested all their players for CL games knowing that it won't even cost them that much if their league form suffers.

Why are players constantly arguing with the ref during a VAR check? Does my head in.

Penalty

But holy hell what a miss by ederson anyways

Even if light, Bruges has no right to complain about this one after last week.

Brugge inspired. But glad I just left this game on. It's absolutely bonkers.

Comedy defending from Bayern, Stanisic and Kim.

Pretty terrible performance all around from them.

Fun game this. Tie not completely over if Atalanta manages to get a second one soon.

Min-Jae Kim surely had to be one of the worst signings in Bayern's recent history.

That nothing tackle by Kim

It was like some kind of video game bug where collision defection failed for him.

Not sure how you can blame that klausterfeck on Kompany
Because Bayern is vulnerable for this kind of stupid goals all season and he doesn't fix it. Bayern win as long as they can pin back the other team and outscore them.

If they fail to do that (like today) it becomes a problem.

So you're saying...Bayern are getting a right rodgering?

We've been doing that with brief intermissions since 2017.

I can't remember a season where you conceded 3 goals at home by Holstein Kiel (or similar teams). I agree with you, but to me it looks even worse than usual this season

Only one of four playoffs today seems to be decided by multiple goals (and even than it's the underdog who is the winner).

Quite enjoyable to watch as a neutral fan.
