UCL Round of 16 - First Legs - Feb 18 - 26

What if a player is through on goal, rounded the keeper so its an empty net and a player/keeper himself just cynically runs into him or something. That would then mean its a penalty with the keeper in goal and still 11 players. That would surely make it unfair on the attacking team then.

Exactly. He's denied a clear goal so why should he be allowed to stay on and do it again?

Is it me or has Pep sacrificed the excitement of last years team for efficiency? They played fantastic, counter-attacking football last season at the Emirates. Tonight they look dull in comparison. Is it because of pragmatism against Arsenal of this season or have Bayern been like this the entire season?

Where is my bestest friend in the world @Balu?

What the feck are you expecting from Sanogo? He's done a lot better than expected. He's not suddenly a world beater but he's done just as well as Giroud would have.
I expect him to play a bit better and put some work into it, mosto f the time he's been walking and his touch has been poor save that bit when he released the ox.

Stupid rule to have a penalty AND a red card. It's too harsh. Punishing twice for one offence.
I think its somewhat logical actually. Only a penalty may or may not cover for the denied goal scoring chance. A red card again isnt sufficient enough for the denied goal scoring chance. The only other way out would probably be to award a goal directly, without a penalty. Thats not going to happen though and will probably cause even more anti referee anger.

FFS, why do defenders even lean towards Robben going right?

This is the the flow diagram of Robben's decision making:

1. Am I cutting on to my left - Yes.

The end.
