UCL Round of 16 - First Legs - Feb 18 - 26

What did he say?
Redknapp was saying that Bayern's best two players are Ribery and Schweinsteiger and that they're the two players that they'll miss the most, only to be corrected by Ballack who notes that Bayern have done just fine without Schweinsteiger, even though he's been out of action for ages. Followed by Redknapp trying to save face.

Ballack telling Redknapp in the nicest possible way that Schweini has hardly played for the best part of 3 months and Bayern have kept winning.
Redknapp then backtracking as much as he can. What a tool! How he is still on Sky's payroll is beyond me.

He is right in a sense though. Schweinsteiger and Ribery are possibly their two most experienced players and there is every chance they could be missed tonight. Bayern have a lot of young players out there and if Arsenal get in their faces, who knows what will happen. I still think Bayern will win, but that's what I'd be telling my team if I was Wenger.

Lahm, Neuer, Dante, Robben etc, they've got bags of experience even without those 2. Kroos has 40 odd caps for Germany and Martinez is an experienced campaigner even at 25. Thiago is maybe the only one slightly unproven at this level but all the other players won the treble last season. They will not be scared of anyone.

Bayern have done just as good if not better without Schweinsteiger. You can hardly tell he's been missing. He's obviously not their second most important player at the moment. Central midfield for Bayern is sorted. In fact they're the most well stocked there. His replacements have done exceptionally well and Schweinsteiger will have to fight for his position now he's come back.

Wilshere on Guardiola: Legend. Respect.

Good stuff.

Remember everyone, for maximum enjoyment set the sound on your TV to "Movie" or "Theater"

How does that work? That's pretty much their strongest team now bar Ribery and maybe a few others.

Because of the no Ribery. Arsenal beat a similar team 0-2 away last season and they are better this season(Arsenal).

I love that Bayern midfield of Kroos, Thiago and Martinez. So talented.

I'm surprised that Muller isn't playing, though. Any German willing to shed any light on that? If I was playing an away game as Bayern manager he'd be one of the first names on my team sheet. With that said, I'm not Bayern's manager!

Errrrr.. More of a joke moan referencing all the moaning about how boring the game was yesterday :nervous:

Ah right. Because I remember seeing it and was going to say that putting the TV on mute would have gotten the most enjoyment yesterday. Same probably applies tonight until Jamie Redknapp disappears.

Müller looked tired in the past week, Robben, Götze and Mandzukic were in brilliant form and Mandzukic was suspended in our last league game, so he's rested. Not really surprising, imo, but nothing to read into longterm.
