I would just like to tell you all, they are the greatest band ever.

feck the Arctic Monkeys, U2 is where it's at.

Go out and buy yourself some of their music, you will not be disappointed.

i love u2 pert, they are musically a great band but sorry dude i dont rate too much after 1990...just my opinion like

U2 are wank.

Anyone seen Bill Baileys sketch in his Part Troll video, where he shows up The Edge's failings as a guitarist, just some effects laden bullshit that anyone can play, fecking pissed myself laughing.

Well overrated band.

Simply the best band around at the moment!

Without doubt The Edge has few rivals!

Although, posting in here regarding the quality of U2 will win little support.

It will probably start a rendition of Bono bashing from the ill-informed!

How come everyone suddenly decided Bono was a cnut?

Is it because he tries to be noble?

It's a bit weird if that's the reason

Shit bands or guitarists don't last that long nor produce so many real hits!

Oh please, this is just plain wrong :wenger:

whi are you into possum?

by the way

with or without you

angel of harlem

still haven't found what im looking for

Desire (and believe me the lost goes on)

would disagree with your point

I have a wide range of musical interest. I like several mainstream newer bands, Kooks Fratellis Killers Snow Patrol, etc but only when im in the mood, have it on while im doing something else for example.

If im gonna actually listen to something, i like people who actually have substantial musical talent, John Mayer, John Legend, Muse, Rage Against the Machine, Jeff Beck, Foo Fighters, Carlos Vamos, yngwie malmsteen, Kanye West.

Then i like some more obscure stuff too, Kate Havnevic, Cary Brothers, Joshua Radin etc

Oh and a little bit of Sixpence None The Richer.

Have you heard The Edge doing his solo stuff live?

How many U2 gigs have you had the pleasure to be at?

Yeah, I'm sure his box of tricks makes him sound mighty impressive on stange. But, try analysing his technique more closely and his limitations become glaringly apparent.

they're not even the best Irish band ever imo, not a patch on Thin Lizzy

I have seen them live 4 times and I have to say the are simply the best live act in the world. They put on an absolutely amazing show.

Though I can see why they arent everyones cup of tea, especially when Bono keeps prattling on about saving the world.

Just shut up and sing ya bollocks!

I rated you until this post.

U2 are utter wank. Bono is a cnut, and their music is shite.

Is the correct answer.

He's not using the old 'Edge is an amazing guitarist' line is he?

I thought even the most die hard U2 fans had accepted he was a load of cock.

evening red nome...hows life?

to be fair he uses a massive amount of reverb and delay on his guitar.

But then i can play every single oasis and beatles song in the book and make them sound like the album...and im notn a great guitarist by any means.

not about what you play is it? more about how it fits the structure of a song

U2 are an OK band with some good songs. Not great and certainly not shite.

When it comes to caf, opinions regarding anything ranging from footy players, to condom brands fall into just two categories

a) Its fecking amazing.
b) Its fecking shit.

This is rather sillly.

I'm afraid he is, poor deluded fool.

Evening fella, I'm not bad, yourself?

I guess that last bit is right, just disagreeing with people saying he is a talented guitarist that's all.

yeah im not too shabby, yeah the edge to me has never come close to the likes of Vaughan, King, Ford, Lee-Hooker, both jimmys...so i agree there.

still living in liverpool?

Fraid so, no easy escape from here, but I am working on it :)

U2 are a decent band.Surely not shit.

And Red hot Chili Peppers is one of the best bands ever.

I love U2. I think they are the best band on this planet. Their stadium concerts - Z00TV - Zooropa - Popmart etc are regonised the world over for changing the face of Rock Concerts.

I don't give a feck what some of youse arseholes say - No one come close to U2.

Thin Lizzy are rightly great as well but its hard to judge them against U2 - both very different followings.
