What's our squad ?

Club Brügge beat Palmeiras 8-7 on penalties.

Assuming it’s two points for Brügge and one for Palmeiras all we need is one win in regular time and we’re through to the quarters.

Is this Kai Rooneys age group?

Anyone know the team? Think it's not long started vs Brugge.

Good start from United, a couple of good chances in front of the goal. Nkoto hit the crossbar from Rooney’s cross.

Jake Ford

Jariyah Shah (2) - Gazi Ibragimov (4) - Jacob Watson (12) - Jaume Camacho (3)

Luca Scanlon (8) - Douka Nkoto (6) - Bassirou Nkoto (10)

Jaedon Donkor (7) - Kai Rooney (9) - JJ Gabriel (11)

I think that's it

Nkoto brothers very talented but just need to play a bit quicker & simpler at times. Bassirou did one of those showboating stand on top of the ball moves & was threatened with being subbed off.

Cheers! Been a pretty bright start from us. We move the ball around so well. Lovely to see.

Yeah, seem like flair players eager to impress. But that maturity and humility will (hopefully) come with time. Bassirou is a unit.

Why the feck are we playing in the ‘Kevin de Bruyne Cup?!’

Thank you for this, much appreciated

Really like the look of Douka Nkoto. Has really stood out for me in these first minutes and certainly seems like he's really mature for his age. Keeps it simple and tidy when necessary and breaks up play really nicely.

Why the feck wouldn’t we?

Some dignity maybe. A City legend and current captain organising a bash and we’re going along. Just something not very Roy Keane about it for my liking.

Yeah, I agree. Better to prioritise the dignity over youth development.

I could be wrong but looks like Silva Mexes is among the subs warming up.

Good play by Donkor, seems like a good signing. He should’ve released Rooney earlier and could’ve played the ball to JJ earlier too, but I like his confidence.

It’s a youth tournament ffs. Who gives a feck about the name or who organises it. Well, apart from you.

Well you would have to ask someone else to get the answer to that question obviously.

”Boys we have a great opportunity to go play some of the best academies in the world, but we decided not to go because of some fans’ ’dignity’”.

Nice to see we’re physically dominating, something we’ve often lacked at youth level. Sure having the Nkoto brothers in the middle of the park helps but still. A few of the Palmeiras lads looked strong too so it’ll be an interesting watch.

Silva comes on for JJ.

Hmm, three players free in the box. Should’ve raised his head and played them in.
