Lennon would be a good buy only if Evra somehow played for the other 19 clubs in the league.

Is Lennon going to be out of contract or something?

Also: The way that tweet is phrased 'David Moyes to solve Man United's problems by signing Aaron Lennon etc etc' makes it read like a WUM. As if merely signing Lennon would solve all our problems...sheesh.

What's next, David Moyes to solve Man United's problem by signing Lionel Messi, as if signing Messi would solve our biggest problem, right?

To be fair, if Lennon is out of contract and we are interested, it makes sense probably. Better him than Ashley Young on the wing for me

Lennon's contract runs until summer 2016.

Lennon is absolutely shite. He's like Valencia without the strength. He does have two feet though; but considering what he does with them he'd probably be better off with just the one.

I don't think that rumour can be even true. Why would we go and negotiate with Levy... over Aaron Lennon!!!??

Exactly. Didn't Ferguson reveal in his book that the club pretty much refused to deal with Tottenham with Levy there?

If this is true, anyone still saying we should let Moyes build his own team first before we judge him?

Don't give him a penny unless he gets this lot playing better football between now and the end of the season. I've feared for a while that despite the fact that he likes and we have been linked with very good players including the likes of Reus, Vidal, Gundogan, Kroos, Koke etc we will end up with more Fellaini type 'PL proven' guff with the excuse that the WC scuppered our original plans.

I fear another shite summer regarding signings resulting in the board remaining forgiving to Moyes and his shite football and shite results for another season.

I can just see it now. Another summer of dilly-dallying because of the WC and derisory bids followed by a late panicky stampede for players who clearly aren't good enough. Woodward and Moyes have talked the talk but I genuinely fear we will end up with players of Lennon's ilk. Remains to be seen I suppose.

It's a realistic view that isn't considered. Almost everyone, especially the media, have been fantasizing about the spree we're going on in the Summer. Few have factored in our struggles last summer, at a time when we were current champions and one of the better teams in Europe. We shouldn't be setting ourselves up for such a successful window, it's come to be seen as something that we can be assured will happen and therefore something that Moyes can use to improve. I'd say there's a high chance Moyes won't get signings anywhere near the expectations going around.

If Bayern did go for Gundogan I guess it would be because one of their other cms are leaving...

Ok - which footballers have we NOT been linked to in one way or another ?

I'd take a fully fit Gundogan over any midfielder in the world bar Vidal. Whether we'll ever see a fully fit Gundogan is the real question.

Kroos would certainly be a nice consolation prize though.

That said, I'm guessing Barca, Chelsea and maybe Madrid will be looking at cms too? Add Bayern to that and we'll have a lot of competition...
