I do think it's bollocks but clubs denying it doesn't really mean much. They'd not come out and say they were negotiating for him if it wasn't done.

It really surprises me that so many people had no clue about the embargo.

It's to protect the printed press, by 10.30 their first edition articles are out in ink form. It means they still have some sort of job rather than social media running away with exclusives.
If anyone broke the embargo and it was traced they'd lose their press conference rights and be looked at as total scum by their peers.

You misread my post I think......
I put Jones/Smalling Evans/Rojo because I couldn't pick the starters (probably Jones and Evans for me with Smalling and Rojo as the backup), with Rafa as RB and Shaw as LB, they're not centrebacks.

This supposedly easy start could actually be the problem. They play well in the first couple of games, that they should play well in anyway, then nothing is done. First hard game comes along and all the weaknesses come out when it is too late.
Fergie didn't like doing press conferences, so no way in hell he wanted to do two. You could see him itching to get away half way through them and he was starting to lose his rag as well.
He didn't enjoy doing them but he did do separate interviews for the Sunday papers after the sir down with the dailies.
The embargo rule was introduced last season to help protect papers and their selling point.
