Guess this proves how totally useless this thread is in regards United transfers
No one knows all that much these days. Most of the actual stuff that's happened ( Herrera, shaw and henriquez) has happened swiftly with little buildup. There was buildup with shaw but that was way back. Days prior to the transfer I don't think there was much concrete talk.

It seems to be the same with the guys we've actually been linked with like Vidal, Di Maria etc. People know of our interest but we seem to be letting nothing out so the journos are just running with whatever bullshit get can conjure I.e discussed, submitted, prepared, considering etc

The rumoured price is 20m Euros, Bailey is either hitting the wrong button on his keyboard, or hasn't got a clue.

Could also be both.

Like vidal today?

What a bellend. As a tweet above said, Sporting are in a financial crisis. Surely they won't scare away potential buyers with that high of an asking price.
yea exactly, its more likely that we want to give the money in installments but they need it up front.
so eventually we can get them down to a smaller figure because they want it up front etc. something like that id assume.

The way I understand it is that Souton had a €17m offer rejected last week (£13m) but alot of media are reporting it that they had a £17m rejected, messing up Euros and pounds. Our bid is supposed to be €20m (£16m) and rumoured to be his release clause, but we would want to pay it in 2 parts, €12m (£9.6m) upfront and €8m (£6.4m) in bonusses and installments which Sporting isn't agreeing to.

I have a feeling if we agree to pay more upfront this deal will be easily sorted.

Tancredi has tweeted we've put our bid in for Vidal. 45-48m euros. Juve want Hernandez.

You'd think this would be picked up by better news outlets in the coming hours if it's true.

How did City get 13 million for Javi Garcia? That just makes the supposed prices we'd sell people like Hernandez for an absolute and total joke. I'm still convinced if Hernandez was at Porto, Benfica or something they'd get a truck load of cash

I'd be pretty happy with Rojo if we can get him for less than 20m quid. Can cover
LEft back mad centre back, young mad looked pretty good at the World Cup. When you consider that Vermalen was going for a similar fee - this would make a lot more sense.

If LvG wants him, I'm fine with that. He suits the profile since we fortunately missed out on Vermaelen. I don't care what some journalist thinks about him, the important thing is what LvG thinks of him.

What profile does he suit? He's a young, relatively unexperienced left back who's never played at top club level. I agree though that I trust LVG knows what he's doing but it seems to me we're replacing Buttner rather than anyone else.

That's because if he was at those clubs he'd be playing every game and scoring 25+ goals a season.

Don't see why everyone is moaning about Rojo..would be a cracking wee edition to the squad and can only get better as a player. Good pace, great passer, and energetic wee fecker from what I seen in the WC.

He's a left footed centre back, at an age he can improve, and can cover left back. Fits the bill for what we're after.

That still wouldn't take away from the fact the prices quoted for Hernandez are a joke (in comparison to prices we've already seen this summer). Garcia has hardly been in the City squad yet he went for 13 million, some of the Hernandez prices are around 10 million. That is nonsense, 3rd/4th choice or not for us, as a player he is worth a lot more.

Javi Garcia has left City?
