Vidal chose United ages ago it's just down to whether his knee will show itself to be in good condition and allow the transfer.

No wonder this deal is stalling if we're demanding 45m to take Vidal off their books.. Yeah, yeah, I'll show my self out

I don't understand how this could still be at such an early stage, this late on in the window! I imagined everything having already been agreed in principle subject to the condition of his knee.

This fecking transfer window is like an annoying kid playing with a light switch now.

It’s not easy being Ed Woodward. Armed with the money of Manchester United, the name of Manchester United, and the reputation of the manager of Manchester United, the pressure to actually sign people for Manchester United is more than your average human could bear. But Woodward is no average human, what with his designer beard, prominent cheeks and smouldering stare, and as such, his ability to link United with all manner of players for whom he is unable to complete deals is without compare.

When it comes to “weighing up bids”, “preparing bids” and “agreeing terms with the player”, United cannot be matched. Currently, they are thinking about considering whether to contemplate perhaps pondering a potential postulation as regards actually offering a suitable sum of money for Ángel di María. This is because Real Madrid are keen to sell and, given financial fair play restrictions, Paris Saint-Germain can’t afford to buy – clearly, what they need to do is get themselves banned from all transfer activity, like Barcelona. Anyway, Louis van Gaal has specifically referenced Di María as the kind of player United lack, so expect them to be priced out of a one-horse race in the next week or so.

And that is not all – United are also looking at Daley Blind, the world’s first footballer-newspaper. Van Gaal has noted publicly that Dutch players are cheap and good, so, most likely, Blind will join from Spurs for £174m, in two years’ time. In the meantime, a variety of types have been informed that they’ll be leaving Old Trafford – Marouane Fellaini, Nani, Javier Hernández, Rafael, Will Keane and Wilfried Zaha. The same was expected to be so of Antonio Valencia, a target for Wigan Warriors, but no one’s been able to find him since 2012.

Pretty much sums it up.

And keep this madness throughout the year eh?

Was it really madness before we implemented it? I'm too young to remember to be honest, wasn't paying much attention as a kid during the 90's.

Now it's just ridiculous, especially when it forever seems like Sky have told clubs to wait until deadline day so Jim White can go mental over every deal and they can make a big deal of it.

Deadline day would be so much better without that nob head

Its more the sensationalism associated with it to make money is what makes it so maddening. This is an event in itself which actually doesn't involve a single ball being kicked yet has such far reaching consequences to one and all associated with football.

Really hate these 'funny' Guardian transfer bits, it's just crap, and and annoying.

I really, really want to believe you so I think I'm just going to go along with it and then deal with the upset and let down if we don't pull it off. Longing for a reliable source to at least confirm we're close to making a bid but the days are just passing on by now and still absolutely nothing :(
