You're right - I don't know if we're bidding for players or not, but I do know we're not signing anyone, and the season starts in less than a week.
In all honesty, the squad is an absolute state.

I agreed about the feel of last summer, but I have faith in LVG (not so much woody) to get the players he wants, we have weak spots in midfield and defence that need sorting ASAP so we assault the EPL. Another strange thing is that no players seem the linked with moves away except Fellaini to Napoli, maybe LVG is content with what he's got.
When Jones, Smalling and Evans are all out injured plus Rafael and at least one of Carrick or Fletcher is, is it still perfectly alright?
Not to mention that despite his good pre-season Ashley Young will never be anything other than average, Valencia isn't much better and Nani is going (hopefully) so we're light there too...

Joking aside, the fact that LVG has got Young playing to a 'well above average' level in just a short few weeks should tell fans that he knows what he's doing. If we do sign players then great, if we don't, I fully believe that manager knows what he is doing.
