I thought they weren't gonna go for him because alves wasn't leaving? For fecks sake.

i thought they didnt want him anymore? After Vermaelen, watch them go now for Cuardado and Blind

Woodie will not let Barca outbid us, Cuadrado will only end up at Barca if that is his preferred destination.

It's twitter, if everything on it was true, we would have that many players we wouldn't have to play the same player twice during the season.

Surely nobody actually believes this stuff. Anyone who thinks Barca have given up on Cuadrado and PSG 'can't afford' Di Maria must be borderline deranged.

Fat Sam is so predictable. Sign the tallest forward possible.

It must be soul crushing supporting one of his teams.

"He's got great feet for a big man - we wont change our purist football philosophy.." - says every manager (of every club Crouch has been been at) just before said managers instruct their goal-keepers, defenders & mid-fielders to "feed Crouchie with high balls in the box.."

The f*ckers had more clubs than Stringfellow..

... Vertonghen and Laporte's clubs will be an absolute pain to deal with and will draw the saga out as long as they physically can ...

Spurs wouldn't sell Vertonghen to you regardless. In any case, I expect his contract renewal will be announced soon.

If Dani Alves stays they wont get Cuadrado and PSG can't afford to pay what Real want. It's hardly the biggest bullshit you've heard.

despite Crouch being wank in the air

I suppose it's good that we're competing with Barca for signings. Can't say I'm too fussed we lost out on Vermaelen but would be very disappointing to lose out on Cuadrado to them as well.

I find the general policy of not believing anything any club/club representative says/briefs throughout the entire transfer window is sensible, especially when it's as ridiculous as PSG claiming they can't afford someone. It's all one big game.

Ed said, that he's sick of the best players going to Spain & that United were goin to address that.. (sports-casual interview with Stewart Gardner on the US tour)

Gonna have to earn yer bacon now big son!

Why can't we sign anyone without it becoming a saga.

Certainly feels like that doesnt it, agent's flying around to get bids and submit them to clubs for us. I heard Barcelona came to the UK to talk with Arsenal and TV's people.Haven't heard anything like that for any of our targets...

It's not, they can't afford him this summer, because of the FFP. That's why they tried to have him on loan and overpay next summer. The problem is that Madrid wants money now, they want between 50-60m.

PSG can afford to buy anyone, just not under FFP :)

"The boy has understood and reacted well he's a very honest guy. Hopefully we will have a week. We have 7 to 10 days to decide, two weeks maximum."

This one's got saga written all over it too ffs..

There should be "Muppet Health Warning" on the Transfer Forum!

On Di Maria and PSG, I am picturing a scene, but am having trouble putting it into words (I'll have a go anyway).

Something to do with them scraping all their pennies together by selling Cavani and Lavezzi, then taking the money to Madrid and emptying their pockets out, only to find out their about 10m Euros short.

The rep guys they sent to complete the deal start throwing bits of jewelery onto the table, and one pops up and says "I've got a coupon book for subway too! Can you please just give us Di Maria?" White text Tarrantino style ending:

Perez pulls out a gun, shoots the PSG reps, and keeps the money as a symbol not to feck with him again.

I think he's a bit like Evans in that although he is right footed, he's the more comfortable one of a central defensive player to play on the left.

That's a good comparison, until the "LvG wants a left footed CB" stuff started up I didn't actually realize Evans wasn't left footed.

Cant disagree with any of that.. :)

... and PSG only came to this realisation half way through their negotiations for Di Maria!? Everyone is playing games.

I believe that PSG thought they would be able to offload Cavani or Lavezzi for a huge sum, thus evening things out.
We may have enquired about Cavani earlier but that interest ended with Moyes departure.

PSG simply bit off more than they could chew this summer, any other summer it would be business as usual... FFP!
