Yep, bollocks story. No way we offered Jones for Vermaelen.
Give us Ramsay for Cleverley then.
Give us Ramsay for Cleverley then.
Starting to feel like there's something to the Cuadrado rumours.
Ya, too much smoke it seems.
Surely the type of CB we should be looking at if all the top class ones are unattainable? Less than what Vermaelen went for.
Not convinced Cuadrado won't prove to be an expensive mistake.
He's 26, only played one full season as a starter in Serie A, at a pretty mediocre club, made his international debut at age 24 (Colombia can't be overflowing with talent so why so late), and had one decent ish game in the world cup.
Fiorentina must be laughing - 36m? Kinell.
12 goals and 9 assists in 36 games is very good - especially for a player who played a third of those as a wing back. Averages 1.9 key passes per game too, which will have taken all those games at wing back into account.
He's a winger mate. That'll be fantastic news if true.. Far better CB than Vermaelaen!
Thing is I'd like us to go back to snapping these guys up at this point in their careers than waiting till they excel in a stronger league and their value trebles.Haven't seen him much outside that defensive Greek side tbf. We can probably aim slightly higher than taking a risk on that type from the Greek league.
I hope your optimism proves be right lad, I genuinely do.Cuadrado is done and dusted, as is Vidal IMO.
Surely the guy who's being quoted, who's on the Ajax staff, would know that though?Maybe he's just training alone because he's well behind his teammates in preparation due to his post WC holiday.

He's looked a pretty good player based on his performances at the World Cup with Greece and against us in the Champions League for Olympiakos. And Juventus, the king of finding bargains, are interested in him for only £10m which can only mean he's not a half bad player. He's young too so he's got plenty of room for improvement and fits our policy of buying young talented players.Thing is I'd like us to go back to snapping these guys up at this point in their careers than waiting till they excel in a stronger league and their value trebles.
Not really sure if trolling? That'll be fantastic news if true.. Far better CB than Vermaelaen!
Well if it happens I hope you are right. I haven't seen much of him, just saying the stats don't look all that, and he seems a late developer for whom 36m seems a bit much.
Says it all.
You haven't seen much of him but fancy pretty much shitting on the move based on a few 'stats'. Makes sense.
Can any Arsenal fans on here shed some light on this?
How much has any one here fecking seen of him?
I hope your optimism proves be right lad, I genuinely do.
So how much have you seen of him? I can't believe Fiorentina games are often televised.Quite a bit? We don't live in some world where football from other countries isn't accessible. There's quite a few on here, myself included, who watch Serie A every single week. You having not seen much of him doesn't mean nobody else hasn't.
Is Benatia even a realistic option? I mean if City dropped out for him for Mangala, surely he'd be too over-priced.Woodie has me confident and there is simply too much at stake not to spend heavily.
I dont understand why we went after Vermaelaen but I hope we get Benatia.

Give me the low down then.

And I feel like signing Benatia would mean no deal for Strootman; I doubt that Roma will want to sell two first-teamers.
How do you watch United if you haven't got a season ticket?

"Trolling"?
We used to call'em "jokes" back in my day..

WTF?
Online obviously.
I am a United fan though and watch United games. I can't imagine there are many United fans who watch us online or wherever and then go looking for the Fiorentina game to watch that night too. Kinell.
Wenger loves Smalling, it's obvious he is the player Arsenal wanted in exchange.
We dont need the Stroot because Vidal is en route IMO.
If LVG wants to pursue Strootman at a later date, thats his prerogative.
As soon as the Vermaelen deal feel through, Benetia emerged as a target, I am not sure if he was being profiled all along but he is significantly better than Vermaelen and 2nd only to Hummels in my book.
Yeah, not sure if it's already been posted, but that's the word in Manchester. We have dodged a bullet with this one.
Another week passing with yet no signings. Creeping towards the start of the EPL. Shit we're leaving it this late once again
