Diego Costa went for 28 m, release close or not! Costa is better in every aspect, was a starter for them and was even played when not fit. Whereas Chicarito is our 4th choice. No way are they worth a similar fee.

No the release clause is a massive factor, not a chance they would have sold him for £28m otherwise.

You can't compare transfers these days though. Carroll went for 35m, Torres 50m, both were toilet.
Some chump went to Fulham with no pedigree for £11m. Hernandez is miles better than him.
It doesn't matter so much how good they are, but what they are worth to the seller and buyer. And we clearly don't value him too highly as we hardly play him and I don't remember receiving a good bid for him this or last year or at a time when he was actually performing better but still being used as a sub.

Even last year when Chelsea bid for Rooney I actually think if they had tried hard for Chicarito Moyes would have let him go. But he isn't a Mourinho type striker either.

if we sell Kagawa and Hernandez and bring in Vermaelan and De Jong for no cash gain, it'll be one of the worst trade offs ever.

Two players that are surplus to requirements in positions that we are more then sorted in, for two players in positions we desperately need to strengthen, it's not too bad, although reckon we'd come out £10 million + on the deals.

De Jong and Vermaelen adding to Herrera and Shaw... that would make this one of the better transfer summers we have had in recent years. We are in for a delightful treat this month.

Expensive one that.

Realistically though, if we want him badly enough we're probably going to have to pay more than Barcelona will. Arsenal would prefer to sell him abroad, so will probably take a million or two less from them in order for him to go where they feel there's less risk of it coming back to haunt them.

A bit like buying an English player, it looks like we'll have to pay a premium for them to sell to one of their rivals.

I am getting the feeling, now that United are back home from tour and Van Gaal is expected to make decisions on squad soon, UK press has decided it is now their duty and turn to feed world with rumours about United. Till now this summer it was other way round with them quoting foreign media.

Herrera and Shaw were quality signings. De Jong is an ex-city hired thug who is injured frequently. Vermaelen is another sick note that hasn't played enough in the last 2 years. Better windows compared to what? Last Summer:rolleyes: Woodward will have let the club down imo if that's what he delivers.

Sometimes...there are no words.

Grow up.

De Jong would go against what LVG said about buying for the future rather than the short term. So I think if we do sign him it's a stop gap to cover Carrick or wait for Strootman.

De Jong and Vermaelen fly completely in the face of van Gaal's words about only buying players that can improve the team and not buying short term solutions. One is a physio table gold card owner and the other is a thuggish clot who is nearly 30, they epitomize short term buys, they are the kind of leftover junk Milan started to buy as the rot set in.

Naples, for Fellaini must still wait. To encounter the Belgian player with Van Gaal and discuss its future. The summit between Fellaini and the United manager was expected today, but the player has not yet informed answers to the club De Laurentiis. Possible and probable therefore, that there is no face-to-face condition. And what will happen in the coming hours. Fellaini's future remains to be written. Napoli remains in the window. From the individual concerned.

I'm not sure you would be the one receiving the bids, unless I've grossly underestimated what you do for a living.

No way I am falling for Express and Goal bs. Although it will be funny if our midfield becomes so good that we have to resort to playing a diamond with just central midfielders- De Jong, Herrera, Vidal, Strootman.

De Jong would be a great signing. His reputation as a thug is entirely based upon the world cup karate kick. He's only been sent off once.

Agent will meet tomorrow with @ ACF_Fiorentina. After traveling to Manchester to meet with the @ ManUtd.

She doesn't look like a troll who makes up bollocks but then again I have doubts.

Can you imagine him and Herrera in the midfield. We will be watching games from behind a cushion. Nobody will walk through our midfield like last season. In fact they might not be able to walk.

Remember player's agent can secretly feed bs story to the press if his client wants to leave. I mean since when van Gaal's rated Vermealern highly? his best form was 4-5 year ago, there maybe no interest at all. I don't mind if we sign 28 years old defender but the fact is LvG sees CB is the area need to be improved, Thomas isn't any better than our CBs( maybe he's left footed but still..). With 15m, I would rather go for h Ron Vlaar, at least he's played consistently under LvG

Have you only seen him play once? He's not exactly clean cut
