As underrated as he may be by ABU's, he's also slightly overrated by some United fans. He was a wonderful player but some people talk of him as the best midfielder of the last 20 years. Which is ridiculous.

He was among the best midfielders of last 20 years. No question about that.

The fact that Munich have started talking publically about Reus' contract should be a pretty big hint as to where he'll inevitably end up.

Among as in top-20, yeah. Maybe even top-10. But there were a few players who were considerably better, yet quite a few United fans seem to think he is one of the best midfielders (or even players) of all time. That's for another thread, though, let's agree to disagree.

It's amazing how a technical player like Scholes is rated highly and admired in Spain so much more so he is in England.

If Scholes had ran around like a headless chicken and had 20-30 shots a game from long range a la Gerrard he would have been much more highly thought of by the average joe english football fan.

Playing for United and retiring early from England didn't help him in this regard either.

Daily Express easily takes the title.
Easily would be a stretch. They're all so close together in terms of how much bullshit they spout but the Mail lately has taken the cake. The Daily Star also seem to pick the transfer news they report out of a hat.

That Daily Mail article you replied to just reported what had emerged yesterday about Reus' release clause, but mentioned the English clubs linked to him on the twitter account just to get clicks. All papers do it. When you look at the article itself, it isn't really saying anything bad, just that he's been linked to United, Liverpool, Bayern and Real.

Express is definitely worse. Their stuff is mostly made up. At least with the Daily Mail you can name some journos that are more reliable than others. When Daily Express is mentioned, only journo who comes to mind from there is Mick Dennis who is best known for appearing on the Sky Sports news roundup thing at 7.30, stumbling his way through what the papers say, and inevitably plugging stuff from the Daily Express as nobody else will.

I wouldn't mind taking a punt Schurrle not the most technical player but is very effective when on song.

Damn we've lost a key player there!

(at least as far as ABU twats see it).

If you think Webb was actually biased towards United, you are definitely going on general opinion rather than what you actually witnessed over the years.

Vidic, Evra, Giggs and now Webb. Ouch.

Manchester United keep quiet on Juan Cuadrado after fears of price hike http://ind.pn/1pBU7FD

"I cannot talk about Cuadrado, because if I say something about him the price will rise," he said after United's 3-1 Champions Cup victory over Liverpool.

Did he mention Cuardrado by name? The reports I'd read had suggested it LvG only said "players"?

"@Moqayah: BREAKING:@ManUtd legend Howard Webb has followed Vidic, Evra and @rioferdy5 out of the club after a major burst-up with van Gaal" > hahaha mad me chuckle that

That is what he said. Not Cuadrado. What @Rake said.

Any day now, I'm expecting LVG will call an unplanned press conference together, and the media, thinking that he will unveil a new player, will all rush there, only to get blasted by LVG for twisting his quotes and making life difficult for him. And then while this is happening, Vidal will quietly slip into Carrington without being detected and train with the lads until the Valencia friendly, when a player with a plain black shirt and mask lines up with our players until the announcer says, "Number 10, Wayne Rooney! And welcome to Old Trafford, Number 27.... ARTUROOOOOOO VIDAAAAAAAAAL"

I think I'm a bit drunk :wenger:
