Rooney spoke to Fergie about signing Ozil from Wolfsburg, as we know he didn't end up signing him but he lauded Rooney as a future scout if I remember correctly... which leads me to my point- These conversations do go on behind the scenes and usually Rooney is involved in them.

No mate. It went like this :

Ferguson said: 'Ozil was not on our radar. I said that to Wayne at the time.
'We signed Chicharito [Javier Hernandez] that summer. My thoughts at the time were a Rooney and Chicharito partnership
'That was a fair prospect for us to look at.
'When Ozil was at Werder Bremen he played wide right initially then they played him off the front.
'That type of player was not necessarily on our radar.
'I told Wayne, "Leave the signing of players to me".

Eh? The complete opposite happened. Fergie told him to feck off and slated him for poking his nose in and it was none of his business.

He will miss a match that is easy on paper - and if we get a couple of injuries, he can play.

Now Cavani makes sense!

If Welbeck is ruled out, I suppose that might change things slightly and van Persie might come more into the reckoning for the opening game, if fit. But I think whoever we sign between now and the Swansea game, if anyone, won't start that game apart from in a bit of an injury crisis. Van Gaal strikes me as someone who'll want them training in the system before throwing them in from the start.

You're having a laugh aren't you..?
El Mundo Deportivo and Sport both said that Barca would require an apology from Suarez ahead of his move. English media too.

Again, the suspension was fair enough, but not doing any football related activity during the ban was ridiculous.

SKY Italia: There is a good possibility that #Vidal will stay at #Juve, Vidal has not asked yet for a move & Juve haven't received a bid yet

If we've not got Van Persie or Welbeck for the opening game then we'll play Chicharito or Kagawa probably.

Van Gaal said he won't play RVP till he has trained enough.

If Welbeck is out (Is he ?) then Cheech can play or one of the many other options.

We are hardly gonna buy Cavani for 2/3 games or whatever.

SKY Italia also reports there is still the possibility for a move, even if Vidal goes with Juve tonight - the will of Vidal is decisive.

Definitely a good option. Will he be fit though?

He should be. He's back in training in Manchester and because he hardly played at the WC he won't be knackered and needing as long a rest as RVP.

Saw a tweet referencing the mirror saying wenger is refusing to sell us vermaelen. I'd be fecking delighted.

In other words, no one has a fecking clue whether we're in for him or not, whether he'll stay or not, or whether we've made contact or not.

One thing we do know is that we're preparing a bud - probably out of Lego giving how long it's taking us.

Tuttosport: Juventus are considering joining Inter and Atletico in the race to sign Man Utd striker Javier Hernandez

You've missed the context of what I am saying.

I'm saying that I think Rooney reckons Vidal is coming for the same reason as us muppets do, not because he is privy to any sort of information.
My theory is that Rooney may have been told if it was a player that Rooney could see as a threat to his role, to reassure him in advance, eg "don't worry Wayne we are planning to play Cavani out wide"

Not sure rooney would bother mentioning Vidal in a short convo with Paddy...why would he? If he really did say something then I expect it was a Madrid player else there'd be no context to the conversation, no reason to mention it
It wasn't a short convo, it was a long one.
