The Jake Cohen tweet is either extremely stupid, just doesn't make sense, or is taken out of context.

David Luiz to PSG for 50m.
Cavani to Chelsea for 40m.

Where does the 25m+ FFP profit come from?
Where does the 10m+ profit come from?

I can maybe see where Chelsea are in the "black", they've sold other players to make money recently (Mata, De Bruyne, etc.).
But PSG? They've paid 50m for Luiz, and if they sell Cavani for 40m to Chelsea, that is -10m no matter how you look at it. Another +10m for Chelsea.

Did this guy leave massive holes in his tweet, or what? Can't see where the guy is coming from.

I've listened to that Paddy vine three times now and I still can't figure out what he's saying due to his accent(obviously the description of the vine helps).

Same. I can only figure out the "..I am not going to tell you" part in the end.

Presenter "Huge smile on his face" (unclear if this was referencing Rooney or Paddy)

Paddy "He mentioned a player we are supposedly getting, but I'm not telling"

That's how I heard it, would have thought the player is question is fairly exciting...

That player is obviously Vidal. That's not me being hilariously funny about Vidal again either.

We are keeping completely quiet as far as the media goes which means there is no way in hell that we would tell the players who are notoriously loose lipped.... As shown by Wayne chatting to Paddy.

So with that in mind, Wayne is getting his information from the same unreliable sources as everyone else (as there are no other reliable sources than the United board room).

So which player, according to everywhere, are we heavily linked with and "close to signing"?

Vidal...

You are the king Vidal muppet Pex

You've missed the context of what I am saying.

I'm saying that I think Rooney reckons Vidal is coming for the same reason as us muppets do, not because he is privy to any sort of information.

Not sure rooney would bother mentioning Vidal in a short convo with Paddy...why would he? If he really did say something then I expect it was a Madrid player else there'd be no context to the conversation, no reason to mention it

I don't think Paddy would get all that giddy for Vidal. I'd be surprised if he's watched much of him at all. For him to get that excited it surely has to be a world star or a player who has played in England before.
Saying all that I could be totally wrong and he could be an avid Juventus follower.

Vidal isn't a world star?

You seriously believe Rooney and the players don't know the who we are signing? Of course they do.
I remember fergie said he asked the players before we signed RVP if he thought he would fit in, and that if it was a good signing.

Somebody like Wayne would probably be the first asked!.

I also remember Rooney asking Fergie to tell him who United are looking at and being told to feck off because it's not his business.

Fergie asked Giggs and Scholes about Van Persie because he wanted to gauge the dressing took opinion on it.

That was an exception rather than a rule. In most cases the players don't have a scooby doo what's going on with transfers.

Koke re-Barça offer earlier this summer: "Yes, I received an offer from Barça. It was very difficult to reject it, but Atleti is my home."

Paddy didn't even know Fergie was retiring when ever the dogs on the street knew.it.

I'd also be certain he's never seen Vidal kick a ball in his life.

According to @marca, the CAS have reduced Luis Suárez's ban. He'll be allowed to train again soon, and his La Liga ban will be cut in half.

I hope we try to sign him, when he is willing to move. Such a good character and player.

"He mentioned a player, we are supposedly gettin', but I'm not tellin' ya." That's what it sounds to me.

There's nothing in Marca about the CAS having reduced the ban, because they are only meeting on August 8. What Marca says is Suarez's legal team believe it will happen, bla bla bla.

As much as I hate him, the ban was a bit over the top tbh.

Eh, the stuff about him not being allowed in stadiums etc was ridiculous but the length of the playing ban? Far too lenient for me. Should have been a year minimum. Three fecking times he's bitten someone.

When his defence was that he tripped and fell on Chelini,, and hurt his teeth on him, then you deserve an increased ban. feck Uruguay. feck Suarez.

Rooney spoke to Fergie about signing Ozil from Wolfsburg, as we know he didn't end up signing him but he lauded Rooney as a future scout if I remember correctly... which leads me to my point- These conversations do go on behind the scenes and usually Rooney is involved in them.

I heard Fergie wasn't happy with Rooney for suggesting it, saying something along the lines of "it's not your job to scout, mind your own business"

That he couldn't do anything football related was a bit too much, the other part I agree with though. He gets away with too much when you also consider his other dirty antics. Too many times he's gotten away with stomping players among other things. I'm just glad that he doesn't play in the PL anymore.

Seems to me that those were the words from Uruguay than himself. IIRC, he apologised later to Chiellini, but that was because Barcelona made him.
