He said that about a month ago... And a hand full of times since

They obviously don't want it to look like they're prepared to cash in on their biggest names, so any move has to look like Vidal forced his way out.

I don't think Vidal has to be seen as forcing his way out. If Vidal wants to come to United then he should say something like. 'I have loved my time in Turin but now I feel it is time for a new chapter in my life and to test myself in a new league.' He has won three Serie A's with Juve, apart from the C.L. what else do they expect him to do for them. I think if he wants to come to United and we are interested then with Juve saying the won't stand in his way if he wants to leave I think it will happen.

Thing is, is this the right time for us to finally make a bid for him. Although as all I dont know what is going on behind the curtains. :)

A fair bit different to the usual "not for sale" quotes.

All up to Vidal and us actually stumping the money up.

End it either way please.

Sounds like if he goes on tour it's over, which means we have to act fast!

Mate they are travelling tomorrow, what chances are there that we wrap this up before then?
If anything is going to happen then it will be after the tour regardless of what Motta said. We should have moved earlier if we are really interested though, no doubt about that.

It won't be wrapped up, but we will at least have to make a move. This is like Rooney and Chelsea for me the longer it goes, the more likely he will stay.

Let's just hope he goes all Mr T.

"I ain't gettin on no plane"

It's not often I'm positive regarding United and transfers but I think if he truly wants to leave Juve something will happen tomorrow, not signing him of course but some form of dialogue between player and club. I'm sure if he has desires to play for us he will want to get it sorted ASAP and these latest Marotta comments leave the ball firmly in his court. I'm sure he will go on tour regardless but will cut it short if we actually do bid. If United have, as we're lead to believe by various reports, already spoken with his agent then the personal side of any potential deal has probably been laid out and agreed in principal. I think it will gather pace very quickly if bid is accepted and I'd expect to see him signed before the Swansea game.
Saying all that he will probably join Real and battle it out with twelve other midfielders as it has always been his dream to play for Madrid ;)

you sound like a professional journalist, leaving door open for all the possibilities - :D

It might be wishful thinking but despite Van Gaal wanting to assess the squad i think he would have had targets in mind so Woody can at least do some groundwork on them.
All we can do is speculate, nobody has a clue.

Neil Custis on Talksport saying we want 5 more players. 3 defenders, a wide player and a midfielder.

Stuff of dreams.

I wouldn't believe Neil Custis if he told me our kit was red and we played at Old Trafford.

One can hope, mind.

And that's the truth. When you compare this summer to last you'd have though we are talking about two other clubs. From the fans point of view its frustrating, however I prefer Club being run this way.

Good for you. I wish I could form an opinion on flimsy grounds.

Flimsy ground? Is there any proof that we are even chasing Arturo Vidal? I'm aware there is also no concrete evidence to suggest we aren't so it's 50/50 chance at the moment, I happen to fall on the 50% chance we won't sign him.

The point being him going on your isn't going to make any difference as to whether he stays or goes. It's evidence of nothing more than the fact he is still a Juventus player.

Talksport? They have so many hours to fill, making BS up is the only way to keep callers in the offseason

I don't care enough about an opinion for it to upset me. I'm just pointing out going on tour changes nothing.

Absolutely, as most teams will embark on their tour somewhere between mid-July and the beginning of August, then under the assumption that no player would leave a club after it has started its tour, then we may as well close the transfer window at the beginning of August, and since most transfer activity usually happens in the second half of the transfer window obviously this is a false assumption

Wouldnt he have to forgo any loyalty payments or what not? Its always about money.

So does fox have inside information or just repeating the rumors?

An Australian TV network has inside information on a transfer between an English club and a Portuguese club?

Sounds plausible.

Paddy saying Rooney told him a player we might be getting

Not a tweet but for those who aren't watching MUTV, it must beat most tweets recently.
