Imagine the shitstorm on here if it was Moyes who had been saying that

You know there is a very good chance there will be a pay off with Van Gall, we have already seen improvements in our play in the first 2 preseason games. Plus Van Gaal has done enough in his career to earn a bit of trust, what had Moyes ever done?.

But redcafe told me we were going to win the league next season.

Can anyone please give a summary of that Times article?
It'll just be the interview posted on the Daily Mail link jazzed up with Ducker's commentary. Just read the interview itself, it'll be much better. My favourite part:

Q: Are you looking forward to your managerial battle with Jose Mourinho?

LVG: No. I play against Chelsea. And not against Jose Mourinho. My team and his team are playing against each other.

Q: But he is renowned for engaging in mind games with managers and players – will that provoke you?

LVG: No. He shall not do that with me.

Eh?, maybe i was just super lucky then or in tourist areas or something.
I think so to be honest, because I have a good few friends from around the area of Amsterdam and they all speak Dutch to each other. They have good English though, I'll give them that. Same with the Belgians really.

Difference is van Gaal has a proven philosophy, system and knows how to win. Moyes had none of those.

This was kind of the point, LVG will be given much more time and people won´t start criticising him for everything he says because of his past.

Yeah i have been to Amsterdam 6 times i think it is now and most locals i met talked English and they talked English to each other but maybe thats because we were around them.
I think its a youth thing as well because all the younger people spoke good English but i did notice a lot of old people speak Dutch.

Yaya Toure is a phenomenal player. He offers so much more than just pace and power.

Yes but pace and power are what really sets him apart from other players. And he's not got the footballing intelligence to drop back into a deeper role like Scholes.

Although mainly I think he'll drop off because of his mentality and lack of drive, those no show performances that he's known for will happen more and more, and the games where he really dominates will become further and further apart.

We're after £20m apparently. Would bite their hand off for that, but it sounds like wishful thinking.

I'd be happy just loaning him for a season, whatever it takes to take him away from being able to be selected/boost the chance to buy someone even half useful

If United don't buy anymore big names, and struggle for months, then we will see how patient everyone is on here.

Well it's their native language so you would expect them to speak Dutch. But ya, they tend to speak English when surrounded by English-speaking people in order to be polite I'd say. I'm from Belgium myself, live in ireland now though. 6 years ago I only lived 40 minutes out of Amsterdam, so I went there quite often.

"He shall not". He's so fecking autocratic it's hilarious

You may be right. After Moyesey anything will be an improvement and following Moyesey is a hell of a lot easier than following SAF; last season was a fecking mess from June 1 to June 1. You guys know more about LVG than I ever will and it sounds like ya'll believe in his pedigree and his methods, but patience will wear very thin if we are off to a shite start. I thought last muppet season was tough to deal with but this one has me more on edge, still think we need more.

There's absolutely nothing odd about what LVG is saying concerning the implementation and adaption to the tactical theorem and philosophy.

I imagine it might take that long for complete understanding of his methods to be realised with the squad that we have. Whereas some might find it intuitive to their own understanding of approaching the game, a great many will find it a culture shock sure being exposed to more rigorous tactical demands.

Sorry but I seriously disagree with this. Toure is a very intelligent player.

That he is! He played CB when we played Barcelona in 2009 for example, and had a good game. In fact he deputised in CB quite a few times after Sergios emergence.

He is a great passer and very technically gifted. You do him a disservice here...

Well one difference is LVG actually wants to improve us and show us a better way to hold on to the ball. Moyes didn't do shit. Well he didn't know shit.

We're interested in Kramer according to BILD

Isn't he on loan again at Monchengladbach (from Leverkusen) next season?!!?

Yeah he is meant to be on a two year loan deal to Monchengladbach. This coming season will be the second year of it.

Well obviously we are looking for defenders. If we have to pay three centre backs every game, then we definitely need to buy.
