I wouldn't be surprised if that was indeed the intention of AC Milan when Alegri made that statement.

PSG strike me as the sort of club who just decide that they fancy a player and bid a ridiculous fee for them, along with ridiculous wages. This may have been the case with Silva and Ibra.

Its AC Milan who wanted to sell the players, Ibra didn't even want to sign for PSG

The Vidal saga will continue until United or Vidal say it is over. Juve, Marotta and Allegri kind of have to say what they have been saying.

I guess we all migrate to Reus thread, Vidal deal looks shaky and Di Maria already signed ten times with PSG.

Do you have a link to a story relating to this?

I don't remember that at all.

Some quotes from Gallinani:

"Ibrahimovic really wanted to stay at Milan," Galliani was quoted as saying by France Football.

"I promised him that he would not be sold when he came to meet me accompanied by Mino Raiola at the end of last season. However, the board then had a number of meetings and we opted to sell him after all.

He added, "He doesn't speak to me anymore since he has left Milan for Paris. I can't blame him, though, as I broke my promise."

EDIT: Even Silva wanted to stay too:

Know Maguire personally, happy for him. Weirdly had offers from the middle east too, Hull should be a good move for him though as I reckon he'll get a fair bit of game time this season and he'll get the chance to develop.

Everton sealing the deal with Lukaku is pretty big for them. If they've been missing a player in previous seasons, it was always a solid, reliable striker. I think him signing a permanent deal will keep them in contention for CL spots, and that's a big deal. Same with Barkley staying. Those two should (won't go as far as to say 'will') only get better.

Regarding the AC Milan / Silva / Ibra stuff, the coach saying something and the chairman saying something are so very different. Also, as we at United know very well, everyone has their price if the player is interested.

Everton are doing decent business this summer. Mainly suring up the squad from last season and keeping then together.

If Martinez can get a couple more hits on loan then there is no reason that they will fall away anytime soon.
