Zidane actually won the award for player of the world cup. Cannavaro won the balon dor and world player of the year awards. Personally I didn't mind as I thought it was great for a defender to win the award and I really cant think of anything more a defender could have done to have won it. Cannavaro was great throughout the season for juve and then took his performances to a higher level at the world cup. I doubt zidane cared too much about missing out on the awards as he already has more than enough and its not like winning those awards would have made people think more of him as a player or increased his standing in the game. They did however for cannavaro.

Forster is only 26 and a bit of a beast. I personally think he is England's future keeper, more so than Foster, as soon as they eventually ditch the shampoo man. The Premier League for Forster is a must this season, if he can get there.
