4 pages since lunchtime...I got excited for about 30 seconds till I realised nothing had happened.

Ignore the Moyes photoshop but look at the difference between the clubs press conference rooms

'Arry's splashed out at a car boot at the weekend and picked that up for a tenner. Seen better days eh?.

Table is in poor nick too.

To be fair to Moyes, RvP has form for being unfit and unable to play and then becoming more hardy when it suits him. Clearly they didn't get on and that may be Moyes fault but RvP spent swathes of time injured at Arsenal but suddenly became reliable in a contract year thereby landing a big move.

I cant imagine theres many footballers, especially ones who are in the top ten of their position would want to not play. Footballs too short a career.

I wouldn't mind him for the right amount of money. Can see Hernandez going for sure well I'm hoping he does go.
As for Garay he is a very good CB and although I have only watched De Vrij in the World Cup he looked very good also, they have both gone for ridiculously low fees in a summer where we have lost Vidic, Rio. It makes no sense we did not try to get either especially considering we have one sick note in Jones, a guy that's scared of a football in Smalling and just a pretty good all rounder in Evans.
Hummels own father/agent says he will not leave Dortmund. Klopp who doesn't mince his words say he wont leave and suggests it would only be considered if a ridiculously high offer was made. Mangala who I think will be very good one day is too expensive at that age and looking City bound.
Varane I cannot see leaving Madrid so who do we think LvG is after especially as his interview clearly stated we are short of central defenders. Everyone on here seems well against Vermaelen and he seems the only one available right now. With season start in less than three weeks I'm really expecting a very busy time with transfer announcements once we are back from tour.

I think the CB's Van Gaal has lined up are Vermaelen and Miranda, players of that calibre.

The 4 defenders is the same listed by Ogden and Ducker several days back. Custis has added Di Maria though but i'm still not convinced we're in for him. Cuadrado is the more logical choice.

I believe from every report Ive read that Di Maria wants PSG which would make Cuadrado the next best winger available at the moment.

I reckon in a couple of hours quotes will surface from Vidal saying he's staying at Juve. Cue muppet suicide.

Not to be negative but usually players don't train before big transfers. Injuries...

And they are all ball playing defenders we'd need one to at least add some muscle and get stuck in.
My ideal back three would look something like;
Evans - Smalling - Hummels.
Hummels is pretty two footed and capable of playing on the left side, and is a lot stronger on the ball than Evans who van Gaal appears to be a big fan of. Smalling adds balance with his physical dominance and sheer pace in a fairly averagely paced defensive line and is one of the best defenders around in a straight one-on-one with a forward, if anyone gets caught flat footed. Playing him down the middle also gives him more options on the ball, there's less need for him to try play on his preferred foot or be forced wide with the ball.

The other way to look at this is, if he was staying and had no other intentions, he would simply have a ten second conversation with his manager. It's a load of tosh boss, ignore it, I am not going anywhere.

Why have a meeting, unless of course Vidal is going to make a public announcement, Fabregas style, like last summer?

Vidic himself pretty much said so.
We shouldnt have lost Vidic this year.
Sorry, I'm not too keen on someone who was ready to jump ship the moment he thought the ship was sinking.

Genuinely think if Moyes was sacked in January that Vidic would have stayed another year.

He pretty much said that in an interview he gave to MUTV (i think) after the season finished or thereabouts..

Moyes must have so frustrating to work with That everyone wanted to get away. Sure RvP legged it as soon as he got injured & fecked off to Holland to get away from Drill Sergeant Moyes..

Sorry, that wasnt a very good answer Walshie..

Maybe moyes played a part in his departure, anyhow i wish hime good luck

Looks pretty obvious to me that Vida got sick of being showed youtubes of "Jags" world-class defending..

Considering his age, and the fact he doesn't seem to be too crucial to PSG and they seem to be looking to offload him. I would say £25-30m would be about right. He was never worth what PSG paid for him.

Yeah thats what i had in my head also.

It's hilarious though, because PSG must never have envisaged that FFP would throw a spanner in their works / spending & now with shit revenue streams compared to the all the top clubs in Europe - they must be banging their heads on the wall regretting not gettin involved when Abramovich bought Chelsea. Chelsea have a sustainable business plan now - City, PSG & Monaco dont. F*ck'em :D

A tenner? To be mislead and fed more guff?.......Feck that!

No danger of you turning that down aul han. You want your share in Punts dont ya?

I would be less worried about Giggs, and more worried about the "class of 92" being his only coaching staff.

Let's be honest the club need to move forward, and as legendary as those players are for us they are not top coaches. The Giggs documentary are all you need to see to realize how close we came to that. Pretty scary to be honest how they picked the team!

It's all worked out for the best, and Giggs will be older and wiser when it's his turn. He won't need friends to help pick.

Let the past reside in the past & start afresh with new ideas & modern-thinking approaches.

Does anyone actually know what the f*ck "Philip" Neville did as a coach & did Moyes know either?

I reckon he was the Cone Man..

Either that, or would be comments that appear to throw a couple of tidbits in there, but upon closer inspection, they just melt...kinda like any journalist's comments about Vidal!

Sound evaluation & thought process mate.. :)

I feel for Vidic tho, he worked under a legend for years then suddenly he has to take orders from a clueless bozo who never won anything?!
I may have left as well.

Is Rodriguez even fit yet? I mean this has been a horrid summer for Southampton, wonder what the fee will be. Also, anyone know any decent Southampton forums? I don't want to laugh at them but interested to see their reactions.

I love Vidic but he's gone now and it's all water under the bridge. Any Tweets about us signing anyone?

He can't be properly fit, you'd imagine. Didn't he get the same cruciate ligament injury as Strootman around the same time?

If he is available, you'd imagine Liverpool might be looking at him with the Remy deal collapsing.

Like I said, he's got form. last season he a) didnt like Moyes and b) didnt want to miss the World Cup. Suddently fit again for the end of the season and the summer.

I'm not saying he wasn't injured - just that he perhaps wasnt overly keen to runu through brick walls and get back on the pitch when he wasnt 100%.

The only thing that makes me happy about Saints selling all their best players is I just know that cocky twat Le Tissier will be having a right meltdown right now

Just be an Atheist like most of the Heathens on here Stret - thats my advice.

If you dont believe in Heaven - then you cant believe in Hell either, therefore you'll just be reincarnated as a Liverpool fan when you die & have Y.N.W.A. on repeat all the time.

Best of luck bro..

Incidently, i only found this out the other week on here, but if you type "Y.N.W.A" without the full-stops - it comes up as "YAWN" instead. Its just like when the Caf replaces the "F-word" with "feck"..

Brilliant i thought..
Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!! What kind of voodoo magic reincarnates one into a Liverpool fan! Satan is definitely the way forward!
Interesting fact about predictive text there! I enjoyed that! :D I liked the bit about the YAWN best!

I heard on Talksport the other day that Van Gaal wants 3 new CB's in. That cant be right, considering he only wants to work with a squad of 22 - which is mental in my opinion anyway..

Vermaelaen's on his list most definitely - shame no-one knows what his form is like for the past 2 years..

Van Gaal mustn't rate De Vrij that highly, because if we were in for him - he'd surely be here already. Unless De Vrij doesnt like Van Gaal?
