All my friends in Turin say that 50million € is what Juve are waiting for.

They say if we bid this money, Agnelli will personally drive Vidal to Manchester.

They all think that if we dare to play hard, Juve will sell for less.

All 3 of them are sure of Vidal coming to United and think that its a good deal for Juve if they get the money they want.

If Jaanmat is there for a medical, maybe we could finally announce Debuchy given he's apparently signed a contract, done the media photos and is using our gym.

50m € is actually pretty reasonable ~ 40m GBP.

I think we only want to pay around 30-35 million. We are haggling over the fee now. I think it will be done sooner or later. The price is the key right now.

That does usually seem to be the way negotiations work.

He bit someone, for a third time. Where I come from that's known as assault and a third time would surely end up in a prison sentence. Last time I checked, prisoners weren't being allowed out early because their human right to work was being violated. Different rules for the big boys, it seems.

We wouldn't pay 34 million for Vidal but we'd pay 40 odd for di Maria. Bollocks.

They all have the same info though, which would suggest we've briefed it.

50mio € is today close to 40mio Pound. So I reckon we are not far off...

Exactly if I bit someone at my workplace, I'd be promptly shown the door.

We're haggling because we can.

The player wants an EPL move and we are the best suited. He doesn't want to go back to Germany, to France or anywhere else in Italy so despite him being world class it leaves very few rivals for his signature, if any.

We have them at the table thanks to Evra and we can hold Evra back until we sort Vidal out.

So why be seen as a club that pays "whatever". We could save ourselves £5m here, which sets a precedent for future transfers and could be the difference in not being held to ransom again and saving another £5m... again and again. It all adds up quickly, we are a business at the end of the day. You play hardball with negotiations and in 5 years time, 10 or 12 transfers on and the club has another £50m+ sitting in it's coffers.

The bucktoothed feckwad can always get a job flipping burgers in Mickey D's if he desperately needs some form of employment while he's suspended from football. If I prove myself incapable of doing my job without biting fellow employees I'd consider myself bloody lucky to just have a suspension. Most people would be looking for a new line of work entirely.

This. We're playing a dangerous game here, and it may backfire, but we need to stop focusing on the short term all the time and realise that this haggling can help our reputation.

TURIN - A mountain of money by Adidas, a hill of coins for Juventus. If you record the extent of future sponsorship of Adidas in Manchester, is nabobs can put on the plate, as if nothing had happened, 43 million euro for a simple midfielder. The Red Devils may, by Arturo Vidal. And they want to accelerate: they do not need to wait for the entry into force of the new contract with Adidas to give the assault on one of the most eclectic interiors and strongest in the world. That has a relationship to say the least extraordinary between appearances and goals scored (46 and 18 last season in black and white). And that has had a decisive way on almost 40% of matches played between networks and assists. Arturo Vidal scored as a striker, he fights as the best median, trotting up and down the lawn as an outsider. REVOLUTION - The revolution taking place in Manchester, with the arrival of Louis Van Gaal and the birth of a market outside the common, seen in the Juventus one of the key objectives. The agent of the Chilean Fernando Felicevich, is a skilled mediator and this is exactly the role he is playing, in contacts with the English club and Juventus. Tell of ongoing negotiations between the prosecutor and the heads of the Red Devils midfielder. Felicevich, in his almost daily telephone contact with Beppe Marotta, is seeking to create the fertile ground for the eventual displacement of the Chilean England. All makes perfect sense and I'm far from someone suggesting we just act like it's Football Manager and buy players no matter what. That said, we're up against it this summer in terms of getting in top players. I'm sure plenty of them wouldn't even consider us because of no CL football. If - and I have no idea if this is the case and am just speculating - we mess around on the fee for a very gettable player and end up losing out, it'll all have been for nothing again.

I've long thought for a while that our approach to the market is odd. We seem to have that Barca-esque arrogance about buying players which leads us to believe we only have to show a bit of interest and the player and club will fall at our feet, regardless of price, but with almost no evidence of recent success at the top level of the market. At the moment the precedent we have set is that we'll usually dick around for long enough that the deal falls apart. There'll never be value in this mythical market we seem to think exists. You'd hope this summer will change that.

I almost, well i don't but i almost hope someone else comes in and takes him from under our noses. It would serve us right because we never seem to learn from our mistakes.

Why is anything other than "name your price" a mistake?

If you're buying an asset for millions you'd be fecking mental not to try and haggle. Why just throw an extra £5m you don't have to at something just because you're too embarrassed not to.

How hard would you think it'd make future deals if we gained a reputation of just paying the asking price regadless. We'd get a City/PSG 40% inflation on top of every deal.
