Spend £27m on a left back, £30m on Herrera but won't pay £34m for a world class midfield who'd improve us massively.. what bollocks.

I just do not and cannot believe that anyone at the club thinks £30-35m is overpriced. It just doesn't make any sense when we paid similar amounts for Herrera and Shaw.

By BS i'm targeting the "if United option fall through", if he said that his agent must be melting down.
Ah right. Ye looks like you're probably right about that part being bs.

After spending how much we just have on Shaw & Herrera are people really believing we think £34m is over the odds for Vidal?

Makes it even more unbelievable if true, especially after we've just announced a £75m/yr kit deal!
If you can make that much money, and not want to pay £34m on a world class player, what does that say about the club? Are we really happy with a Carrick/Herrera or Cleverley/Herrera midfield?

Doesn't this have a familiar ring to it though? It's always the same before a major transfer with United. Always has been the same. Club comes out and 'denies' a bid has been made and then the club is 'adamant they won't pay over the odds' for said player. Then the club end up paying that price or close for that very player. I don't believe that United would not pay that considering what we paid for Berbatov at the same age.

Who the feck is Mike Keegan and why have I never seen his name on United news before?

Not saying he's wrong, just where has he come from?

We seem to be really schizophrenic about the market. Brilliant at playing it to bring money in, but really poor at understanding the market when it comes to paying money out. Have we not learnt that if you want top class players you have to pay top prices?

If this story is true (and feck knows whether it is or not, every source quoted either way seem less than worthless to me) then it's highly unlikely that we suddenly decided we don't want him or that we're refusing to spend big money.

Could be that Vidal has turned us down for another club. Could be that this is part of ongoing negotiations. Could be that it's just bullshit. Who the hell knows?

Refuse to believe it. I guess there's a chance that it's all true and this is a negotiation tactic; trying to lower the price by a few million. But as of now, I refuse to believe the whole story.

There is absolutely no fecking way we would refuse £34m for Vidal when we've paid £27m on Shaw.

The only way is that we are just negotiating, but I refuse to believe we would actually pull out of the transfer if told to pay £34m. Utter bullshit.

You forgot Fletcher and Anderson! But yeah it is unreal to be honest, unless of course LVG is going to surprise us all and pull off a massive signing this isn't going to go down well, it's not like we are stocked with real talent in that department at youth level either.

I don't believe this "£34m is too much" bullshit. We just spent £29m on Herrera, who is good, but isn't on Vidal's level.

Thee anti-woodward army is out in full force on twitter!

Poor Woody, his time in the good books of most United fans hardly lasted a month! Vidal is threatening to destroy all the love Woody had gotten over the past few weeks in a matter of minutes!

If we had to pay £45 million for him he's be worth it but not paying £34 million is outrageous! He's worth twice that. Maybe Woodward is trying to hard ball them just because he landed two players he probably thinks he's an expert at it now.

Ridiculous that we spent so much on Shaw, Fellaini, but then when there's a player the fans want (fabregas last year, Vidal this year) then we try and be stingy. I'd rather be like Madrid and blow everyone else out the water with insane money. Not like we can't afford to.

Also, I'm not going to jump the gun on the Vidal deal being off.. People are forgetting how easy it is to manipulate the media with a few quiet words..

It's too early to assume that we dont want to sign because of his valuation.. For all we know it could be Juve trying to play mischief and put pressure on woodward by leaking reports saying United have backed off over the price..
