Here is what is amusing.

Newspaper 1 - deal off, newspaper 2 - deal on, newspaper 3 - somewhere in the middle (interested etc.).

Same thing is happening on twitter too, 1 person says it's on, another says it's off and another says it wasn't even ever on.

Hilarious stuff.

Mirror saying we don't want to pay £34m for arguably the most valuable player we'll aquire this window, when we've just spent £27m on a left back, and about £30m on another midfielder.

Transfer rumours have gone full retard. :wenger:

Was told last week #mufc felt Juve asking price high for Vidal. Today, well-placed source denied move was imminent & played down link

Here's where things just get stupid if you ask me. We apparently won't meet the £34M that Juventus want, and we won't be 'held to ransom', but we'd happily pay £28m for Herrera and around the same for Shaw. We even paid £37M for Mata, a player we didn't really need, yet we won't pay £34M for a world class player? That just sounds like absolute rubbish, and it reeks of desperation from the press who have no idea whats going on.

Simple fact is, they have no idea, we have no idea, people on twitter have no idea, hell i bet even some of the players have absolutely no idea. The only people who know are those at United who deal with the transfers/van Gaal/Giggs. They're literally covering all bases so if it does come off, they can say they reported earlier that it was close, pending a few details/money issues, and if it doesn't happen, they can say they said it wouldn't happen etc...

That does not mean deal off. Crafting undermining his own paper. They're covering all bases. Clueless.

Crafting? That Crafty Crafting Crafton!

Ummm yeah, anyway, we usually get this point before the deal becomes official.

Herrera is to join United > He's had his medical > Oh noes! There may be issues with the paper work > Bilboa say they rejected our bid > Mass panic > Herrera signs and all is okay in the world.

Luke shaw bid > deal to be done before world cup > they change manager, deal off > Southampton want more monies! Deal stalled > Shaw signs.

Judging by that, I expect Vidal to be a United player by the end of the week.

As if we'd offer ''players'' for a sicknote with 1 year left on his contract. Wenger just doesn't want to lose his captain to Manchester United..for a second time.

The press is ridiculous they did the same with PSG and Di Maria, in the last two days.

Right.

These ITK twitters are all Jon Snows and I'm not taking anything seriously until BBC says we've signed him.

This is just going around in circles.

You know nothing Jon Snow

The Daily Mail are an embarrassment for completely changing their story in a matter of hours. Oh, and people are actually taking seriously a Mirror article because of the ''bad news = must be true'' logic.

Well if true that's at least not a dealbreaker, even though it sounds incredibly stupid given that £34m is already a bargain.

Have to remember his wages would be £200 k +, much as we paid loads for Shaw, and Herrera their wages will be much lower.
Though still seems a bit tight if true.

So pretty much all the shit papers are rehashing each others stories about Vidal apparently being off even though an hour ago it was close... Right.

We are obviously offering him huge wages if this is the case. But to be so stubborn as to haggle for his price is something stupid. I remember when we were reported to be ready to spend 40m on him and he's completely worth it. I mean how is Mata worth 37m and Vidal not 34m?! Insane, utterly bizarre logic.

Absolute bullshit doing the rounds tonight, on the day the club announce a £75m per year record deal with adidas, they then try to wrangle down the price for Vidal by a few million!? Ridiculous, Juventus would just laugh in our face - journos are trying to get as much as they can out of this Vidal saga.

Mata is probably on a similar wage to what Vidal would be too I would guess. Can't remember what he is meant to be on exactly.

If anything I'd say Vidal will be between £150-200k per week. He's not going to be up at RVP/Rooney's level, but will probably be on more than the bulk of the squad.

There is also the impending clearout looming which would wipe another big load of wages off our books.

Anyway, Express, Mail and Mirror are the three going with the story, the holy trinity of terrible places for transfer news.

The Sun will probably be next. :smirk:

It's United so guaranteed interest, doesn't matter if their right or wrong, plenty of hits on their website is all they're looking for..... mission accomplished!

I love how people are now pseudo criticising the club for apparently being tight on the fee, we don't even know doe sure we are talking to Juve it's all just paper bollocks they know.nothing.

It's fun reading tweets and articles just to see who we may be linked with but treat it as just that, fun, don't believe anything until a legit sources says it and you'll have a much calmer transfer window
