Sorry, those two aren't anywhere near as good at that job as Khedira. For all the stick he gets, he's very, very good at haranguing the opposing midfield and turning possession over for his side.
We've no idea if Wenger has a plan to get a proper DM in, but even if he doesn't, he's now got the option of a solid 3-man midfield with the signing of the German.
Was in reference more to his 'Reus is good but nothing special' comment. Picking one of Reus or Sanchez is like deciding which lingerie model to date. Either/or will be fine...

Re-read my post. Khedira isn't a DM, and I never said he was.
For Khedira think more a Fletcher when he was fit type player than Carrick.
He isn't good at holding and screening the defense but he is good at pressing and haranguing the opponents and gives very good work rate. In big games we always put Fletcher to do that and Arsenal have lacked someone like that.
Yeah, they need to upgrade their holding mids too, but they totally didn't have a Khedira type player or even a semi leader in midfield. (Flamini was sort of when he played the holding role but he isn't that good.)
Edit - Whether Wenger rotates and uses him tactically well is a different question, btw which i am not convinced of.

People are obsessed with defensive midfielders , attacking midfielders etc. Khedira is an old fashioned box to box player. He's a fantastic signing for anyone - and at that price is even more puzzling why we are not in for him. Makes you think we may just have something vidal shaped up our sleeve.....

Khedira is far more aggresive. Fabregas wouldn't add any steel whatsoever.

I think Fab plays higher up the pitch and sherks defensive responsibility.. not that Khedira is a DM but he at least will track back and get stuck in.
