There are so many sport radio shows in Spain, I get them confused. If I’m not mistaken, Onda Cero are one of the good ones.

I'm hearing the same thing from Barca fans aswell on the radio station, so there could be something in this.

I'd say only the COPE network and maybe Onda Cero are more reliable than Cadena Ser. Worth paying attention to, especially El Larguero show.

@LosGunners Local radio in Spain is an interesting enigma. Generally very good, but often act as the mouth pieces of the clubs they talk

@LosGunners about, and will blindly report anything fed to them with no censor, so can be duped for the sake of the club. Important to think

@LosGunners about *why* Spanish club X has given their buddies at their local radio this piece of news, and not a more mainstream paper

This was all posted on July 9th. About the Alexis Transfer.

Just some interesting tweets I found on my TL.

See the Messi minutes tweets in my previous post, sounds like they might be a good source of transfer news. :D

Hope so.

So no one believed me when i said that they are reliable ? :(

Ducker pretty much covering all bases.

Would suggest that there is absolutely nothing coming out of the club from our end and they're going on foreign reports too. Hopefully a good sign that they're working on a couple of deals.

Yup. Sounds a bit like 'I'm feeding on scraps here, so I'll stay as ambiguous but as technically accurate as possible' from Ducker.

It was a Spanish Radio Station that broke the Herrera transfers aswell? or am I mistaken...

Yeah, Cadena Ser.

But that was their own story they printed too, not via someone on a show. Dunno what this is exactly from Onda Cero and who has given the info.

We want some level of credibility to the thread, and whenever a bullshitter gets posted we get half a page of "bullshit", "don't know what he's on about", "Daily Express LOL!" etc. which we could do without.

We're getting that anyway. We're now regularly hearing the assertion that all journalists are bullshitters, and practically every source has been nominated for the ban list. We might as well ban the media altogether and live in a cave.

Cadena Cope and Cadena Ser both reporting that PSG owner Khaleifi is in Madrid having dinner right now apparently.

Make of that what you wish.

Hummels maybe ... thiago silva's pretty good?
.... john terry? lol

Nah, a few have the potential to be that good but none are really, its not really a golden age for defending.
Half the problem with the comparison is that rio and vida complimented each other so well and were more than the sum of their parts.
Our current 3 all have rough edges that need to be smoothed out for them to be top tier but they're as good as most (outside of injuries where all 3 are worries).
I guess there isn't as obvious or as beneficial a partnership between them atm, probably never will be one as good as the above though.

Yeah i mentioned those two in another post earlier today on the same subject, i agree Silva is definitely around that level, Hummels could be as good or possibly better after that it's slim pickings in my opinion.

Keep seeing the same thing posted about our current defenders 'they are not as good as rio/vida' and based on this people don't rate them and want them replaced, but who the feck is as good as Vidic & Ferdinand, very few is the answer they conveniently ignore and the few who are are unlikely to be here any time soon.

As you say its definitely not a golden age for defenders, just look at the world cup for proof of that, Luiz, demechelis, vlaar, Sakho, jagielka, bruno alves all first choice for some of the big nations, i personally wouldn't swap any of our 3 for any of those defenders.

Stan Collymore reminds me of West Indian fast bowler Corry Collymore.
