Interesting he thinks Depay will be the player LVG will bring with him and doesn't rate Blind much.

Breaking everywhere Kroos completes RM switch will be announced after WC.

€12mill a year salary, turns down BM's offer of €10m.

Where are we drawing conclusions that Depay is Zaha ?

I think he just means we don't need another raw, unproven 20 year old, we could do with some proven quality added to our wide options. We have Zaha, Januzaj, Lawrence and Lingard all in the same age range, so I think he has a fair point.

I took his point to mean that Depay is another flash step over artist in the Zaha vein, who if we bought him would flop like Zaha.

Maybe he'll clear it up, I thought it was about not needing more prospects as opposed to playing style.

Depay is a better player than Zaha from what i've seen of the two. Under LVG, Depay could develop into a brilliant player.

Hmmm... All this talk about Depay and Zaha. I wonder who will be the Le Tallec and who will be the Ronaldo? Alternatively, who will be the Le Tallec and who will be the Sinama-Pongolle?

I'd much rather have a more well rounded winger along the likes of Sanchez and Di Maria but that's unrealistic. I don't see how it'd be a risk buying Depay when we still have Ashley Young and Nani in our team stealing a living. So in that case, I'd be happy with Depay

Both Depay and Zaha are pretty talented. Zaha seems to have a attitude problem.

Not sure either is a a real elite talent though. But LVG and Stuivenberg now would know how good Depay is exactly.

Bingo.

With our transfer activity over the last 5 years or so, do you blame us for being pessimistic?
Yes it's awful spending £60mil on Herrera and Shaw in the space of a couple of days. Another terrible summer signing Rvp from one of our rivals. We have had 1 bad summer and that means we have to be pessimistic? The World Cup isn't even over yet so we haven't seen the last of our transfers. It's just annoying when you see people saying oh we will sign De Jong and Vermaelen and that's it.... Nobody knows who we will sign.

Would be nice to sign an exciting winger like Di Maria to be our new number 7 but I don't see us buying Vidal, Di Maria and a centre back but the again, no one knows who we are going to sell so it could be possible. I would sell Nani, Young, Anderson and Cleverley if it was my choice.

We did spend a substantial amount on Fellaini last summer too and Zaha was already done and then Mata was a record signing in January.

Spending £60m this summer and buying Mata was pretty much a necessity after how badly we did last year so that answers that.

RVP was like a last hurrah for SAF because he knew City were going to bid for and therefore probably get him and we'd fall further behind them.

Before that look how we've spent. Valencia and a bunch of failures.

I'd say it's more than realistic to think we'll end up with De Jong and Vermaelen and be disappointed/pessimistic than it is to get your hopes up of signing someone amazing and then being disappointed.
