I don't think we are in for Sanchez at all.

Seems strange but we aren't being strongly linked with that sort of players so far.

They have to qualify too, so we'll focus on that potential banana skin 1st Red & if that fails - Group Stage disaster focus..

That's what I meant by fail to get into the group stages. :D

Sanchez signs, then they lose to whatever team they have to play, and don't even make it into the CL proper.

Can understand Sanchez turning us down for CL football, if he was joining someone with a decent shout at winning the thing. Otherwise what's the point? Still, you have to commend him a bit, we'd more likely pay the higher wack.

£45m + Nani = £45m :smirk:

Add up what Nani's contract is & that £45m figure is seriously reduced - what him goin will save us in wages. He must be on around £120k per week or more.

He seems the type that would wound down his contract to milk the shit out of the wages. He wont get those wages anywhere else thats for sure..

He only signed a new 4/5 year deal this year or just before the new year, so if you add his wages up for the remainder of his contract - thats:

£120k x 208 wks (4 years) = £24,960,000

It certainly looks a helluva lot sweeter a deal if you think about that the wages gettin rid of Nani would save us & that £120k per week is only a guess - it could be £150k per week, which is another £6,240,000 & over £31m saved in total wages..

Effectively we'd be gettin Vidal for £14m
;)

Nani was before his extension under Moyes on a £75k/week pre-taxes. His extension was reportedly not increased in weekly wages, but in appearence fees. Getting rid of Ashley Young will save us alot more.

Short sighted on the players behalf. Also would have been interesting to see how much an extra 8 games (let's be honest, Arsenal aren't going to win it anyway) stack up against an extra 30/40k a week.

That is what is so weird.

What kind of logic is it to not choose a team who has been won the champions league and been in three finals since 2008, and instead go to a team who have been in it every year but never won it.

Madness. Also, it is likely it will only be us out of the cl for one year.

Ahh shit, sorry man.. you certainly did say that. Read that too quick.. My bad..

Hope they get a bogey team in the draw :)

No problem!

Me too! Failing to get out of the group stage and not making the Europa league would be a nice one too, then failing to get top 4 the following year.

Can't believe that so many people are overlooking what you've just said. It was rumoured previously that he doesn't want to join us because we've got not CL football yet all the moaning that we're not in for him, etc. Come on guys, this season bar CL football, Arsenal's got nothing on us, literally, nothing. We could pay higher fee, higher wages, we're bigger and better club, we're just out of Europe and this kills the hopes for some players, seems bloody obvious.

Mmm except that we would have to buy someone to replace Nani at some point.

You know this how?

I still think it's more likely we haven't shown interest in Sanchez, than he point blank turned us down because of CL football. It's not like Liverpool or Arsenal or Juventus have a hope in hell of even getting past the quarter finals.

Yep. As we understand it anyway, based on what's doing the rounds. Maybe LVG didn't fancy him, maybe he turned us down, maybe we do sign him. Who knows?

So Alexis wants to leave for a club that's won almost squad since forever - which celebrates 4th place finishes and FA Cup victories like the World Cup.
Than a club that suffered a minor blip due to deficient managerialship and has seen a change of regimen to a renowned tactician - a club that's won half of the League titles in the past decade on top of a European Cup and 2 more final appearances and is one of the 3 biggest in the whole world ?

Good luck to him then. We'll look elsewhere.

Which if you watched any of Shaw in the last two seasons, you'd know is utter tosh. He's much better defensively than he is going forward. One game doesn't change that.

Saying meh and stating that we already have a better replacement is read as bitter? Ok mate.

Side note: Don't ever go on RAWK.

Your write like a member of it. I will take your advice and not go to RAWK. Thanks.

Tbh i cant. CL for majority of big clubs is basically 6 group games and 4-6 games in latter stages. 4 of these group games are against piss poor teams from weak leagues. And quite often top players are spared on those games.

Having said that im sure that we will CL spot next season. So Sanchez rejects us beacause he doesnt want to lose 6-8 european games.

United are a massive club, much bigger than Arsenal or Chelsea. In 3-5 years we are much more likely to win CL than any other English team bar City.

Rumours now that bayern want vidal to replace kroos

That rumour has been floating around for a while now. You do realise what you have done by repeating it? ;)

There will be those that felt their heart miss a beat and their stomach sink, just by reading that. There are those who believe that Bayern are ultimately more attractive than us under LvG....... you have fed their fears!

Don't know him, just got him on my timeline and wasn't banned so I thought I post it. Seems like an italian journalist.

Look at his display picture, no know would tell that guy anything, therefore he's unreliable.
