Kevin Parker may well be a clown.....but dont know about Kevin Palmer
I guess we're buying another left-back then?
Selling club is cash-strapped and wants to sell to fund a purchase, means ball is on the buying club's court. Plus he is 27 years old, not much sell-on value. It would be a great deal for us but wouldn't say it's a robbery. If Vidal is available at that price, we won't be the only club in for him. Not sure I believe that report though. 40m is too cheap.
They could easily be tempting clubs into a bidding war with that initial price. If Vidal is available at that price, we won't be the only club in for him. Not sure I believe that report though. 40m is too cheap.
40 MILLION EUROS = 32 million pounds!
Bargain!
Why are you calculating both Sanchez-Di Maria and Vermaleen-Hummels?. Those players are either/or. United won't be signing both Hummels and Vermaleen, and it'll be either Sanchez or Di MariaOne thing I've noticed over the transfer years is when its widely reported a Barcelona or Madrid player is leaving no matter how good its always true, in that case we should be going all out to sign either Sanchez or Di Maria. I can't see the 200m kitty being true but if it is that means its there to be spent to spend it all!
Herrera - 28m
Shaw - 28m
Di Maria - 40m
Sanchez - 35m
Vidal - 40m (Plus Evra?)
Hummels - 30m
Vermaelen - 11m
_______________
Total 212 m
Selling 40-50m
Young
Fellaini
Chich
Nani
Buttner
_______________
Total - 162
Potential Squad average age 25.1 (excluding 30 yo RVP)
............De Gea
Rafael-Hummels-Jones-Shaw
.........Vidal-Herrera
Sanchez-Mata-Di Maria
.............RVP
Of course this is me being a transfer muppet

If you read the first paragraph it would explain it, then scroll down to the very last line, cheers.
Well I think this summer is a one off, and we won't see similar spending from the club in a long time. There appears to be sufficient funds to purchase a marquee signing, so I would imagine the club would be prepared to spend over £40 million straight up on one star signing.I should problem ask this in the MUFC forum: If a club wanted us to pay a large (£40m+) lump sum, straight cash, with no installments, could we do it without it affecting how we go about other business in the same window?
And also, how much do you think we could go up to as a maximum in a lump sum?

Some major signings are lump sum payments, Ronaldo to Madrid for example. But yeah, most clubs will opt for installments nowadays.Very few deals are lump sum payments - particularly now we are in the world of FFP.
Theoretically, we could do it, however, i suspect it would impact spending power. As for installments, i suspect that these are paid over 3 or 4 (for the large fees anyway).
We should get Martins Indi if Evra leaves. He's a center back but is capable of playing at left back as well. Would be two birds with one stone.
I think lump sum is what clubs bite the buying clubs' hand off for, it's just that not many buying clubs can afford to do it.Some major signings are lump sum payments, Ronaldo to Madrid for example. But yeah, most clubs will opt for installments nowadays.
To activate buyouts, don't they have to be lump sums, IIRC that's why Liverpool failed with Konoplyanka, because they wanted to pay in instalments. Some major signings are lump sum payments, Ronaldo to Madrid for example. But yeah, most clubs will opt for installments nowadays.
If they accept United's bid of €40 million how would a bidding war start? Clubs may offer more but the player would be then free to choose where to go which still might be United so they get no extra money. They could easily be tempting clubs into a bidding war with that initial price.
It's not Football Manager, unless there's a written agreement Juventus don't have to accept anything. If they accept United's bid of €40 million how would a bidding war start? Depends on the circumstances, but as Juventus are allegedly selling to raise funds for immediate transfer movement, they'd surely rather the £40 million. Here's another question that may seem a bit left field: would a selling club prefer, say, £40m cash or £50m paid in installments?
Ah, you saw where I was going with that line of questioning.Depends on the circumstances, but as Juventus are allegedly selling to raise funds for immediate transfer movement, they'd surely rather the £40 million.
Letting him go last season was such a stupid thing to do. Now we are left with 3 young CBs.
As confused as a blind lesbien in a fish market?
