Odd time to sign a keeper of Casillas' pedigree when they could have signed one when Szczesny came under immense scrutiny, but last season he was very impressive.
City didn't spend too much 2 years ago when they bought Rodwell and Sinclair. If Negredo goes though ... maybe Cavani for them?

Di Maria like Sanchez now is rumoured to want a club with CL football, why? During the year we're out of the CL the chance of them joining a club and actually winning it is very, very slim especially when 1 is leaving next years favorites and 1 is leaving the 3rd favorite and neither of them are going to the 2nd favorite, Bayern.
Just can't understand it, especially since Arsenal and Liverpool have the exact same chances of us winning next years champions league, absolutely NONE.
Also, am I the only one who doesn't care about Suarez transfer? when I see his name in a tweet on this thread I just skip past it.

Suarez - I feel its a foregone conclusion. There is only one team in for him so there isnt much interest in that transfer.
He's clueless, he's now saying that Bayern are a threat to us regards Vidal but he thinks Vidal favours Utd.
I think its just obligatory for journos to write "X player is understand to prefer to join a club with champions leauge football". Very unlikely that Journos ever know a players personal preference.
If he actually said that it's like a pissed off defensive attitude so the rumours must be true.

I remember when signed he said something along the lines in regards to his transfer fee about it not being his problem rather than saying he'll justify the fee in performances.
Not only does he not have the talent for a big club he doesn't have the mentality.
One thing I've noticed over the transfer years is when its widely reported a Barcelona or Madrid player is leaving no matter how good its always true, in that case we should be going all out to sign either Sanchez or Di Maria. I can't see the 200m kitty being true but if it is that means its there to be spent to spend it all!

I keep forgetting Jones is still only 21. Hopefully he can kick on this season and really cement a place in our back four.

Sanchez and Di Maria are both RW's. I'd target either Sanchez or Di Maria, then next Summer we go for Reus.
As for defence, i'd love Hummels, but I don't think it's realistic. Dortmund won't want to sell and by the looks of their recent financial announcements, they won't need to sell either. I'd go for Benatia as the more realistic option myself.
I don't think we need Vermaelen, we only need 1 CB imo. We also don't need too many signings. What we really need is first team quality players. So Vidal, Benatia and one of Di Maria/Sanchez. That'd be a terrific window.
