Why are some criticizing Barca for pursuing Suarez? We should be glad he's leaving Liverpool. That will be back where they belong next year.

Think more criticising Fifa, for putting a football acitivity ban on Saurez and transfer ban on Barca but letting them both get around it.

Barça have appealed the ban, thus for the moment, they're allowed to sign players. I'd rather see Jose manage Barça and Ronaldo play for them before Suarez.

I'd imagine it's within Fifa's remit to ban a player from football related activity such as posing for a team photo but to ban a player from transferring would surely need a more severe cause or not be allowed at all, otherwise it would contravene EU legislation (Freedom of movement of workers I think)

I'm not bothered by any of that as long as he's not a Liverpool player next year.

Exactly what I was thinking. Unless he goes to Russia or Qatar, I don't see him moving for what they'll ask.

Cavani wouldn't go Russia/ Qatar, he doesn't seem the "only for the money sort", I can never be certain obviously, but I could see him taking less wages to play some real football and force a move through, thats if he isn't in their plans, as he has had a great season coming from the wing spot.

I'm not sure there is much to criticize. Barca are allowed to appeal the decision taken against them and they've exercised that option which means they can sign players in the interim. Suarez being banned from all football activity (even team photo's) but not transfer seems fine to me. One is related to employment the other directly to football matters which FIFA regulate. They can't stop him from signing a job offer. His player registration is also not held by him but by LFC and would be transferred to Barca. Plus a medical is just that, a medical. He'd go to a hospital for that and I'd be amazed if that translates to a 'football activity.'

On Cavani - They obviously aren't going to get back the inflated price they paid for him, but he's still a top player who can knock in 30 goals a year if he's the main striker. Monaco, Athletico, Milan, Juve, or possibly even Dortmund would make sense.

Why in the world would Madrid sell Varane to Chelsea? And why would he prefer Chelsea over Madrid. Silly IMV.

He'd have to take a massive paycut, I'd imagine, to go anywhere but Monaco there and I think PSG would be foolish to sell him to someone else in that league because he will terrorize it as the main man.

Seems another quiet day for United rumours?
Wheres all these Di Maria rumours coming from?
