Never wanted Zaha. Went from chasing Europe's most courted young players (hazard and Moura) to a player in the Championship.

So for 4 attacking positions we have: RVP, Rooney, Hernandez, Welbeck, Kagawa, Mata, Young, Valencia, Januzaj, Nani and the young players like Zaha, Powell, Lingaard, Wilson, Lawrence, Keane. And I didn't even count the great Bebe.

Having options is good but this is a really overkill. I think that from these 17 players, only around 10 of them will play a part on next season. I think that some of these youngsters are better to immediately send on loan and do the pre-season with the team when they'll play.

Herrera, Shaw, Vidal, Sanchez, De Vrij, Vermaelen

Wait that's only six haha

He says seven MORE players though doesn't he? I hope he's onto something but it's just guesswork, Yorke knows as much as us muppets surely?

Is there a requirement to be an idiot before becoming the president of Inter?

Surely that's not right haha.....it's going to a mental summer window if it's true though

As others have said, the seven may include a few of the youth getting senior contracts.
Two or maybe three more signings would do me fine. DM, winger, and a CB.

I hope if we can't get deals for these top midfielders (Vidal etc) we at least bring in some kind of short-term solution. We desperately need another midfielder to add to Herrera regardless of them being top-class or not. Can't be having Cleverley waltzing around doing nothing and Fellaini firing elbows everywhere next year.

Defensive midfielders and centre back are critical areas for me. I'd categorize a winger and a right back as positions it would be good too strengthen, but isn't a massive issue if we don't, particularly the latter.

not transfer related. Uruguay's president has really gone all in when talking about FIFA! lol

Luis Suárez ban: Uruguay president calls Fifa ‘old sons of bitches’ http://gu.com/p/3qh3e/tw (Photo: EPA)

It's unbelievable how they can be so deluded. You can discuss how long the ban should have been (I think it's perfectly fair), but surely they cannot seriously think that he should not even have had a one-match ban? (And thus have been finished at the WC, which is seemingly what Uruguay are so furious about).

Would you really want us to buy nine players in one summer? Good luck getting that team to gel.

To be honest I think any more than 3 more signings, another midfielder, a CB and a winger, would be overkill and actually damaging to the squad.Van Gaal should be giving a chance to work with our young players and under performing first teamers and see what he can salvage. Then next summer we can make informed purchases to supplement the squad when the first wave of signings is settled.

Believe reports Barry will sign today or tomorrow are wide of mark. Talks still ongoing but he hasn't made up his mind yet on next step #EFC

No no, I should have edited my post. I hope he's right in that we're bringing in more faces.

I think we need to ship out several players though. Fletcher, Young, Nani, Anderson, Zaha and Fellaini.

Vidal rejected bayern when he went to juve.

He'll also probably get a lot more money at United.

Cant see him playing under Pep either. To much blood and thunder. Seems a strange link gievn that Scweinsteiger isnt seemingly in favour. They're very similar types of players.

Looking at how quietly Woody managed to get the Herrera deal done, it wouldn't surprise me if we're after someone totally different.. Most of the transfer rumors in the press are agent driven anyway!

The meltdown on here would be epic if we not only failed to sign Kroos, but then Vidal went to Bayern as his replacement!!!

I'd say that is two very reasonable transfers and top quality players moving to quality clubs who are in Europes major competition, not grounds for a meltdown at all I don't think.

Not really. As others have already mentioned, we'd then have eyes on the likes of Scweinsteiger and maybe even Martinez.

If he went to an English team however...

Crossing is not in itself a bad tactic as it seems to have been painted, if you have tall guys who will win headers then it's a very sensible tactic. Beckham to Yorke springs to mind for a number of such goals.

Martinez would be perfect alongside Herrera, I reckon he'd be a better signing than Vidal. But Bayern wouldn't sell him.
